“I’m sick of establishment. I want nothing to do with those jerks. Anything that’s got “establishment” written on it is a “hold your nose” vote at best.”

Right on!

I’ve never felt so passionately AGAINST the establishment! They need to be booted out, FAST!

This will help.

Get over it. Palin is out! Period. She will not be president. She will not be Vice President. The sooner you accept that, the sooner you can pick a new candidate to get behind. Cain is a good choice.

The delusion is strong with this one.

If she decided not to run for president, I don’t think Palin will accept the VP nomination either. Her priorities are God, family, and then country, in this order. Two of her children do not want her to run.

I am leaning toward Cain because he is down-to-earth real. I still have lingering doubts that I hope to settle in the coming year. I want to see how he holds up in the limelight. And if Cain can get past the establishment Republicans, then I would love to see Newt Gingrich in a debate with Joe Biden. That could be a Tysonesque pay-per-view beat down.

But Newt is still Newt and he would be a tough sell to Republican moderates and independents. I know there is another VP candidate lurking out there who, when announced, we will slap our foreheads and think, “Yeah.... of course!”

I’m thinking the obvious here... Herman needs somebody to offset his lack of foreign policy experience.

Why not a Perry/Cain ticket? As long as he’s been in politics and his experience I don’t think he’d be willing to be second on the ticket. Why does it have to be Romney? Conservatives don’t want Romney. If we vote for another candidate in the primaries in droves we’ll even win in crossover states. We can keep Romney from winning. Many on the left thinks Romney can win and will vote for the candidate they think will lose to 0bama.

I think they would make a good team and I think they would be a team, instead of Obama just bringing Biden along for the ride.

I think Cain and Gingrich could compliment each other very well.

Not gonna happen, count on it. Sarah knows she can do more from the outside rather than be a lightning rod constantly drawing fire from the fawning press looking for revenge for Obama’s (and progressives) crushing defeat

Eggggsactly! As a non-candidate she can be as politically incorrect as she pleases and keep the focus on the failings of the Marxists now in power. She literally will be able to call a spade a spade. /snic

Cain is unelectable, at this time, because of his skin color and the connotations obama has infused into racial politics.

How about Cain/Gingrich?

Can you imagine the debates?

Biden would be whimpering in a corner.

“...but if I can’t have Palin I think that Gingrich is the guy.”

Interesting, because I see Gingrich as a good VP choice. Even though he’s been around the bend a couple of times, I don’t see him in the same light as the gop establishment. Gingrich speaks the problems out loud and clear exactly as I see them. Gingrich is brilliant.

Cain is incredibly engaging and charismatic, and ultra conservative. I trust completely that he will do what he says.

Anything that’s got “establishment” written on it is a “hold your nose” vote at best.

It's reality, whether you're sick of it or not. Welcome to politics. If Cain were to get the nomination--pretty unlikely in my estimation--he'll need someone on the ticket to provide balance to his lack of political experience. More likely is that Cain has a pretty good showing but can't cross the finish line and, possibly, he gets picked up as a Vice Presidential candidate. But even that has its own problems.

The fact that the GOP field is in such disarray is certainly a boon to Cain, but there is a place for two non-establishment people to run for President and Vice President. Third party tickets.

Perhaps but Perry and her are good friends. She might accept if he asked. I bet she’d at least consider it. Though I think she’s right about where she can best benefit conservatives. She makes news and she still will. It’s her personality & her celebrity that make her news. That didn’t change.

"I think Cain is pretty exciting in his own right, and a lot of people, particularly older, middle-class white Midwesterners and Southerners, would probably like someone bland in the VP spot."

Bland conservative... Hmmm... Santorum, perhaps?

Newt brings in baggage without the money of either his fellow establishment types. His best role is cranking out ideas or writing speeches for others. He’s very good at that.
