We have the same thing happening here in the western part of the state. Pure insanity.
I never saw a ramp leading to nowhere before, and I have to say I'm shocked by it.
I’ll take it a step further. Here in Northern California “stimulus bucks” are repaving I 680. We have had “handicapped curbs” like shown here in this thread for years on all the on and off ramps. I’ve lived here since before the freeway was built (40 years) and I have yet to see a blind person attempt to cross one of these ramps although it might have actually happened. At any rate, with the reconstruction, all of these “handicapped curbs” have been jackhammered out and replaced with exactly the same configuration with one exception. They now have a depression in the concrete to accept the yellow “bumpy pads” that are glued down so the blind have something to use their canes on. The yellow pads were there before, but since they are a newer “safety feature” than the curbs themselves, they were glued down on a surface that didn’t have the depressions. Talk about pissing away our money. This takes the cake!
