But in the actual and real world, it would take more than decades to revamp, reverse and correct the current Government Welfare, Social Security, entitlement based tax system.
I would love to snap my finger and have it all go away and be replaced by a simple “Fair Tax” where EVERYBODY contributes.
Now, back to the real World; Where there are Socialists/ Marxists Democrats and Status Quot Republicans, who share a majority, are in full control and who will never hear a word we are trying to get tucked between their ears.
There are also State Governments, with Income taxes, sales taxes, VAT taxes, Property, etc,,,. Which by nature alone will be the biggest obstacle to get in the way of one simple form of a “Fair” Federal Tax.
Cain is trying to sell us on the idea that if we vote for him, he will somehow go in and change things instantly and make the World all good again. Here again, that is just Cain's dire inexperience talking, especially after reality gets in the way, as will a near majority of Democrats that have an entirely different agenda and completely different set of ideas than we do.
I doubt he feels it will be that easy. At least he has a simple, workable, explainable plan. That's something the other candidates don't have. 999 would be a good first step.

So here we are.
Cain is energizing the electorate. He's daring to offer something besides what Conservatives see as basically same 'ol same ol'. He isn't pushing a lighter version of socialism than Obama, but is pushing it away. He doesn't have the 'illegal' baggage another candidate has, he hasn't failed to accomplish his business goals, and hasn't made any statements the press has been able to spin as wild-eyed.
He doesn't have a political background, but what we really need is a practical leader, someone who will get the Congress (hopefully a Republican one) to get the job done or look like putrescent asses for failing to--and that is a skill honed in a business environment, where he did not have the force of laws to back him up. (If you don't think successful business management involves political skills, you haven't been paying attention.)
I'm not looking for "Conservative Utopia", 'cause that isn't going to happen, but for the last 10 presidential elections, I have been looking for someone who will step in the Right direction.
None of the candidates will be 'perfect', and the world won't be made so short of The Second Coming. It has taken a long time to make this mess, and it won't change unless someone is willing to head back toward our Constitutional foundations. Balancing the budget is part of that, and just one part, but so much of what does that will get us headed back toward having Government within its Constitutional constraints.
Frankly, it would be a first in my lifetime, and I'm a great grandpa.
