"Occupy Wall Street" now in 25 cities (and none of them know what they're yelling about)

The movement known as "Occupy Wall Street" has spread far beyond its starting point in lower Manhattan. CBS News correspondent Bigad Shaban reports that it now has offshoots in 25 cities nationwide, and political leaders from both sides are weighing in.

From D.C. to Alabama to Portland, demonstrators protest everything from corporate greed to joblessness to economic inequality.

Back in N.Y., 39-year-old Jesse LaGreca is one of the more prominent voices.

"You've got people here being told they need to face a lower standard of living, that we can't pay the wages that we used to enjoy, that the promises that were made to our grandparents are going to be broken," LaGreca said.

“The Government takes too much money out of the hands of the people.
We have whole departments of Government that exist only to give the Government power and control. That takes money and the Government takes that money from the people.”

That is spot on. Government continues to confiscate our wages to pay for programs that further choke productivity. We are being forced to pay the boa constrictor that continues to slowly and steadily squeeze us until there is no life left.

Dear Occupy Wall Street Lackeys,

Your great quest is now over, the real source of your problem is in front of you, in fact all around you. Your long search, your suffering, your lack of employment, your unfulfilled dreams and the reason you have not achieved everything your heart desires is so clear, just open your eyes.

The answer Grasshopper?

It is yourself. First you did not prepare yourself for adulthood, secondly you think work is a four-letter word and lastly you voted Obama into office. News Obama lied to you to get elected, welcome to actions have consequences. Now the bad news, if you continue to follow the Obama agenda (i.e. Used by the Man!) it will only get worse for you. Now the good news, stop protesting and pick yourself up by the boot straps (a Texas term) and get a job. Any job, but join the working Americans. I know that first job is not your dream job. Neither was my first job, nor my second, third or fourth. But the first job starts you on a path towards your goal. The sooner you start, the sooner you will get there.

PS. I don’t want to hear ‘but there are no jobs’. Most of my jobs have been those I created by going to companies and showing them that they could make money and solve problems. See that’s the dirty little secret, companies don’t just hand out jobs, they need a reason to hire people. Those reasons are simple, either make money or save money. So explain to a company how you can either increase their profits (note more then they would pay you) or save them money (note again, more then they would pay you) in order to create yourself a job.

Lastly of course you need to follow through. So get off your ass, clean yourself up and start looking for a job!

I can’t help but wonder what my grandparents would think if they were here to see this. They lived through 2 world wars, the great depression and grinding poverty during those times. My grandfather was from an immigrant family to boot and had to learn English, which he did! He left school early as a teenager to work during the depression and helped his family keep their house.

does this help Obama[?]...

Of course these occupee-ers help zer0. They are of his making.

Folks, this is the CLASSIC - government creates the problem that it has the "solution" for. Here we are 3 years into a regime that does all it can to RAISE unemployment - killing small business and job creators, throwing money away at Solyndra's that then lay off thousands, spending a Trillion to create mainly government jobs, if any. Now, there is an outlet for these zer0-created unemployed - the Occupy-* (*=financial district of your local city). His solution is anarchy, the likes of which will raise him up the Chavez/Muslim-brotherhood/O-Dinga (and Zelaya, but he was thwarted) pedestal.

Next time one of your friends tell you this is just the left wing version of The Tea Party, e-mail them this pic of this Pee Bagger Bidening on this police car in New York.

Heard somewhere that the Occupy Hippies are having public sex at these "TEA Party-like" protests as well! That would be another Compare and Contrast photo.

Good question. I think that is his only hope but I also think that once people get a real look at the protesters they will come to realize that Obama and the Communist protesters are the same.

Perhaps they all should call out for a claim they all desire. Make ALL land the property of the Federal Government.

NPR just had a puff piece about these hippies. The reporterette said how “organized” and disciplined and how they were divided into duties. Blue armbands for security, red for medical. Also the PARENTS ARE bringing these hippies food and supplies!!!!

If this were a Tea party or other Conservative “happening” this same liberal media would be braying over its total irrelevance and utter failure.

The same media DID try to claim its irrelevance despite rallies being in the thousands.

There is even a story here on FR (I be3lieve) about a protest in Minn. which drew less then 100 and now we are reading about the groups being infiltrated by kids looking for drugs and sex and a few just there for the food.

About 350 people came out for the third day of the OccupyMN protest, an event mirroring others across the country decrying economic inequality, which many blame on the power of Wall Street and the very wealthy.

At about 3 p.m., about 250 participants walked a few blocks to the Metrodome as fans were leaving the Vikings game. A couple of hours later, a smaller group of participants marched along the Nicollet Mall in honor of Troy Davis, the Georgia man executed last month after being convicted 20 years ago for killing a police officer.
