Actually Romney ended up taking a JAB at Hermain Cain, if you read the article carefully:

So the very tricky Romney started out saying to vote for him, or Cain, so as not to alienate Cain’s supporters, but ending up putting Cain down - BIG TIME!
As liberal as Mitt is I would much rather see him whip Obama and be president. Due to Mormonism clean living he has lots of vitality. Herman Cain looks like his best years were 15 years ago. He’s not all there
