I think the police stepped in it in this case. They have no evidence whatsoever that I have heard that the parents had anything at all to do with this.

The talk about child abductions by a stranger being “very rare” is not supported by the statistics quoted: Out of 278 kidnappings last year, 125 were by stranger iswhat they said to back up that strangers abducting babies is rare. Those figures DO NOT back the statement!
Those figures show that 43 percent of kidnappings are by strangers. You all know there are all kinds of bad people with sick ideas out there.
The police were just trying to get a quick wrap on this and acted like complete buffoons.
What if it was a set up?
Have someone take the child, possibly out of state, hide the child for a few weeks, then suddenly the child is turned in or found anonymously. Meanwhile the parents are on TV and getting all kinds of support and sympathy, and maybe a book or movie deal after the child is ‘recovered’............

I remember one night a couple of decades ago my 8 year old daughter swore that a guy tried to climb in her window in our suburban neighborhood. We went out to the yard with a flashlight and made sure nobody was there. We humored her but really assumed it was just a dream.
The next morning I went out to the window and there were obvious foot prints.
It happens. We were fortunate. The Lord was answering our prayers.
I think that kidnappings from your own home by a complete stranger are probably very rare. More likely to be an ex-someone, neighbor, milkman, repairman, ect.. than a silent stalker in the night. Evil does exist, but ususally, somehow, you have invited it upon yourself.
Who knows, if they have no outside suspects, they have to ratchet up the stress on the only people they do know are involved and see if someone cracks.
Look up Kyron Horman(sp), here in Portland we had a young boy disappear under very suspsious circumstances, very strange activity by the mom(step?) but to date there has been no arrest or conclusion.

Of the 800,000 children reported missing annually, approximately 69,000 are abducted:
Family members account for the majority of these reported cases (82 percent)
Non-family abductions account for 12,000 of these reported cases (18 percent)
Of non-family abductions, 37 percent are by a stranger (Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, National Incidence Studies of Missing, Abducted, Runaway, and Thrownaway Children, October 2002)
So, of the 12,000 non-family abductions, 4,440 are by a stranger. Way too many, but out of 69,000 they are a relatively small percentage.
I suspect you know the mother of this baby personally. Most thinking people who are actually familiar with the facts of the case understand that the police are on the right path here. Brace yourself because your friend will be arrested soon.
What have the police done wrong? Have they made any statements to the media implicating the parents?
Its the mom who told the media she failed the lie detector.
Now its the aunt who is stirring up the media again.
All the police have been doing is searchng and investigating. What else are they going to do? I’m usually not a police apologist; but, they have been trying NOT to make this a circus...can’t say the same for this aunt.
