I take him at his word, “...it seems clear that some in Congress are more interested in using this regrettable incident to score political points than in addressing the underlying problem. Even in the face of an unprecedented flow of guns across the border, too many in Congress still oppose every effort to reform our gun laws in ways that would make the United States and our Mexican neighbors safer.”
This indicates the desire to “reform” gun laws. I have not yet received any evidence of a method or effort to trace the guns or the criminals. There seems to have been no element in the program beyond getting the guns into criminals’ hands in Mexico. There was nothing planned after that would happen. Has anyone else discovered any plans to recover the guns or stop the criminals? Was this entirely about creating force for more gun laws in the US? It now seems clear that it was.
I believe that was rpecisely what it was about. It is my understanding that some of the agents have alluded to the same. but Holder’s own efforts are a clear indication as to what his desired outcome is.
