He’s not the pastor of the church Perry currently attends, and he’s just your usual Southern fundamentalist Protestant to whom hating the Catholic Church is as natural as breathing. I live in the South and I hear this sort of thing all the time, and I just ignore it.

I too am surprised by the “shock”. These guys make a living hating on Cathlolics and Mormons and whoever. Why the surprise??

Hating on Catholics and Mormon individuals as people or hating the doctrines that their religious institutions teach?

For all who would seek unity in Christ, and since I am a Southern Baptist, I would recommend that you go to the W.A. Criswell web site and read the sermon delivered 7-18-1971, entitled, “The Pope, the Rabbi, and the preacher”. Dr. Criswell served as pastor of First Baptist Dallas for many years and what he had to say is very relevant to this discussion. Dr. Jeffress should also read this sermon.
