if you read stories of POW's in Japanese prison camps, it was clear Japan was getting ready to execute all US prisoners when the bombs were dropped - there are thousands that survived only because of the sudden surrender by Japan. It is obvious that Obama is still obsessed with an anti-nuclear, circa-1982 protestor mindset. The man is an out-of-date joke.

Not an excuse, but as way of explanation, the Samurai code spoke of total obedience to the Emperor, and that to surrender was not an option.
