I agree that Rush is getting out of touch with many of the Tea Party ideals - Perry doesn't cut it when it comes to conservative values on illegal aliens receiving rights reserved to those who are actual citizens of the United States of America.

Rush introduced me to Perry when he pined about how he wished Perry would consider running for POTUS.

Either Rush had not vetted Perry or he was surprised with his amnesty through education policy for illegals.

In any case, Rush owns his Perry recommendation and while I love Rush, he needs to man up to a mistake made and move on to real conservative.

As for me, I cannot overcome Perry's posture on illegal amnesty. It too big of an issue for our Country to look the other way.

Perry is a real conservative you are just to blind to see it.

Yes Perry has made mistakes, but that doesn’t disqualify everything else he has done, even Savage has said that Perry is 80% of everything he would want in a candidate, and surely you don’t think Savage is a RINO.

Here’s the deal, Perry IS an insider, but he there are different groups of insiders. Many people seem to think there are only one group of evil insiders, when their are actually several. The currently most powerful group is the one that the Bush’s control, it’s the Northeastern Rockerfeller Republicans that gained power when Reagan left office and HW Bush took over. This group has been running the party since HW Bush and they are the ones people typically think of when they talk about Republican insiders.

But there is another powerful group, lets just call them the conservatives who have been out of power since Reagan but have exerted influence in various ways. Their power base lies mostly in the south and west, Cheney was a part of this group which is why he was brought onto W’s ticket, and Perry,Buckannan, and Gingrich are a part of this group too. They are insiders currently out of power seeking desperately to reaquire it.

There are other insider groups that are much smaller, the religious right insiders like with members like Huckabee.

And then there are the true outsiders like the Tea Party people and the libertarians represented by Ron Paul.

McCain by the way didn’t really belong to ANY of these groups, which is why many insiders considered him to be an outsider AKA a “maverick”
