My post from September:
“Why not introduce the Affordable Energy act of 2011. Reduce regulations for domestic oil production and award more leases to companies to drill on Federal land. Just think of the US jobs that would create. Most of them high wage positions.” & “
I forgot to mention that the bill should include a $5.00 per gallon trigger that eliminates all barriers to drilling offshore and in ANWAR if and when gas hits $5.00 per gallon. Its going to happen someday and we should grab the public support on this issue now.”
This is my post from August:
We need to propose a stimulus bill of our own to create jobs and increase the GDP. look at this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=om4AgcRQJSs&feature=player_embedded
The pubbies need to push this as an economy boost and title it as “Affordable Energy”. Make the rats in the Senate vote against it or Zero to veto it. Repeal the red tape and launch an effort to push the domestic production of petroleum. We could even add the element of national security to it. As gas goes up in price, the American public will listen to the GOP when this is proposed and laid out to the public in simple understandable terms.

Its a shame that Zero is throwing our money down the green jobs comode instead of investing in domestic petroleum production. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=om4AgcRQJSs&feature=player_embedded

So has Perry, it's just Palin has been in the spotlight. I bet Palin was saying that long before we even knew who she was. She didn't just start saying it, she was probably saying it long before we knew her.

Perry was the governor of an energy state, he knows what he is talking about, just as Palin was a governor of an energy state and knew what she was talking about.

I bet the governor of North Dakota would say the same thing and he didn't have to "get it from Palin". Palin's idea is not original to her. I would even bet when Palin and Perry and the governors of other energy rich states met they talked about this very thing.

At least, Perry wasn’t afraid to answer that question and Romney wouldn’t so he is in favor of bailing out Greece, if Greece should collapse.

Yeah but Cain's idea for brining the economy back is 9-9-9.

This is Perry's 1st phase of his plan. If energy exploration was Cain's proposal or Romney's they would have put it in their plan.

I know Cain's plan is 9-9-9.

I think Romney has over one hundred points in his, so whatever.

I know a little about Newts but could give you no details.

It's frustrating to hear such narrow thinking people say "Palin has been saying this for years!" It's like they don't understand that she probably said it as governor too before anyone knew her. Perry has said the same for longer. They are both right and both genuine in their assertions.

Bush was saying what Palin was saying also. That doesn't diminish Palin saying it because it's true. Governors have states to run. Palin is one part of a large plan.

“Prosperity comes from creating wealth, extracting resources is part of the process.”

Exactly.

Drilling, mining and logging are wealth multipliers.

Gold mining built San Francisco. Logging white pine in Wisconsin and Michigan in the latter part of the 19th century built St. Louis and Kansas City. How many cities in Texas were built around drilling for oil?

Perry has a long section on the ridiculous farm subsidies programs in Fed Up! He uses the waste there and Texas’ battles with the EPA as examples of over-regulation, over-reaching and over-spending, as well as the pork system.

Yes, he would cut and defund as much as the Executive Office is able.

One law, one statement, negates years of fighting for jobs, faith, life, family, and to defend the border and Constitution?

First, he didn’t just “go religious.” He has attended prolife, profamily, proConstitution gatherings all along.

His energy plan is not new, either. He has been fighting for energy independence his entire career. In fact, Governor Perry was with Governor Palin at an energy summit when she went into labor with Trig.

Do you know that Governor Palin has been criticized for her coalitions with church groups?

One of the things I like about Perry is that I can go to the Texas.gov site and see that he has been fighting already. It lets me know it is more than words.

As much as I like 9-9 minus 9, (or some reasonable replacement to the outdated, antiquated, ridiculously complex and unfair current tax code); as much as I think we need to curb spending, reduce it at least to 2008 levels, and attack the humongous amount of government waste; I think our first and foremost issue is to address and fix ENERGY and FUEL.

Current conditions, mostly imposed by this current administration, are killing this country. Fuel and energy drive EVERYTHING in the economy. As it goes...so does the economy. We have the resources to be totally independent of all foreign oil, gas and energy. We could even become an exporter in time. But regulations and subsidies and privilege have stopped fuel exploration and production, stopped energy resource production and expansion, and continues to cripple the American economy through high costs and fewer jobs.

Fix ENERGY and FUEL, and the economy will go viral in a good way.

Good post.

The opposite of the Obama-EPA-Gore School of “thought.”

Which means what is right for a strong and prosperous U.S.A.

You grow the economy, you don’t pit people against each other to fight for diminishing scraps.

Thats a good point, that if we increase drilling, we can help strengthen the manufacturing industry as well. Everything from steel for pipes down to basket makers.

Im sure, especially in the Bakken and Marcellus plays, that out of work electricians, welders, and fabrication workers from Pennsylvania to Illinois would have new job opportunities, which could give some relief to the rust belt states.

As part of the support staff of a deepwater drilling company with few current plays in the US, I still see that we employ around 400 people. That includes accountants, mechanical engineers, administrative staff, and a whole host of others. If there were satellite offices up north to support the shale and gas plays, the industry could hire the same people in the hard hit areas.

Sarah who? Oh, the one that didn’t have the cajones to get in the game? Maybe she can make another Facebook post about it?

Perry has been pushing energy independence since he was elected in Texas in 2001.

I dont know the specifics of Perry’s proposal, but the EPA and Interior Department both reside in the Executive, so if Perry told the EPA to lay off nad the Interior to grant more permits, it would be 100% within his job as President.
