John Kasich and extremist Republicans have been hard at work attacking the middle class, suppressing the vote, and robbing our kids and elderly of essential rights like a strong education and Medicare. At the Ohio Democratic Party, we believe enough is enough. We have taken the fight to Ohio Republicans by joining with our allies to collect over a million signatures to repeal SB 5, and we're just getting started. With 2012 races gearing up, there is no better time for Ohio Democrats to get the ball rolling with a strong grassroots program to reconnect with our voters. We are combating the Republican special interests in Ohio by recruiting energetic Democrats who want to fight for the ideals we cherish and spread their enthusiasm throughout the state. We are currently looking to fill full-time field canvasser and field manager staff positions in Columbus, OH. Advanced leadership opportunities will be available to individuals showing dedication, inspiration, and responsibility. As a field canvasser and/or field manager, you will: • Build rapport with targeted voters, • Engage citizens in the pressing issues for which the Ohio Democratic Party is fighting, • Learn how to be an effective fundraiser and representative of the Party, • Inspire Democrats in Ohio to get involved and remain involved in the democratic process. Pay varies depending upon responsibilities and performance but on average staff will earn between $325 and $650 per week. On-the-job training is provided and job offers are made upon successful completion of a brief training period. On-going training is provided throughout employment. Working with the Ohio Democratic Party provides an opportunity to engaged in politics at the statewide level. Field Staff and Field Managers will be exposed to many facets of election work, gaining knowledge and experience in campaign activity.
