This is the first piece I’ve read that really touches on the hatred for Zionism in this crowd. I suspect most of these college-age folks use that word the way they use ‘Fascism’ and have little understanding of the meaning of Zionism beyond it being a cool word to toss around that separates one from the rabble who don’t use it in everyday conversation. It’s the hippie equivalent of movie fans who toss around “iconic” (man do I hate that word). It’s a verbal bumper sticker that says “I’m not one of THEM, I’m one of the COOL ones.”
These folks couldn’t find Israel on a map, but they are all about the ‘plight of the Palestinians’.

Those who do wrong always have jealous hate for those rewarded for doing right.
That is the only sense I can make of the mass antisemitism in the world.
It’s sadly ironic that people who deny God hate the Jews because of Him choosing them.
Whenever I run across these types, I compare Israel to a Native American reservation, a tiny sliver of land for those who were there first, a little patch of Indians surrounded by 21 cowboy states who can’t stand it. That’s exactly how I put it. “It’s cowboys and indians over there, but the arabs are the cowboys. Think about it.” Amazing how quiet they get. They’ve never thought about it that way.
