Cain’s 9-9-9 plans shed light on just how complex the current tax code is. Finally, we the people are having a robust debate tax reform.
That is what Paul Ryan said a few days back. Unfortunately, the author misquoted him and said he "LOVED" the 999 plan when that was incorrect, (author's recant here: ( http://dailycaller.com/2011/10/13/paul-ryan-loves-herman-cains-9-9-9-tax-plan/ ), but Ryan did say he was really glad we have the 999 plan to start a national debate with.
You're right though that taxes have been and may always be somewhat complex. Even with this "simple" plan Cain is offering, he is now adding exemptions and differing percentages and adding new kinds of policies attached to the revenue.
Doing all those things are making his 999 plan much more complex than it may have seemed to begin with. However, it does give us a good national dialog to get better things going down the road.
Please let me emphasize one more time though, that as conservatives, we need to rise up against any liberal policies being added to his plan. Federal empowerment and enterprise zones attached to the national tax revenue need to be stopped dead in their tracks right now.
