Former Alaska governor Palin discussed the latest GOP debate, the candidates and momentum and more on FOX News' "On the Record With Greta Van Susteren."

"I think we (Republicans) are more interested in substance and that's why like tonight Newt Gingrich again I think did the best because he seems to be above a lot of the bickering that goes on," Sarah Palin told FOX News after tonight's CNN debate in Las Vegas.

Everybody could learn from Newt Gingrich and the way his calm, cool, collected manner. He's kind of seen it all before in this political game, if you will," Palin said about Gingrich's debate skills.

He is, but you have to ask the question: if a person watching the debate tonight hadn’t made up their mind, which candidate would have persuaded them to do so - I think Mr. Cain might be judged the winner. But Newt did a good job of doing what he does...we’ll see if it changes the numbers.

I would crawl over broken glass to vote for Newt if he were the nominee against Obama

He is good when it comes to debates.

He'd also be a good President....but everybody around here is too concerned about 'baggage'.

Comments like this are why it's good she's not running.

Perhaps. But I’ve noticed many of the candidates seem to be living in a different time period.

Newt Gingrich- 1993
Ron Paul- 1790
Rick Santorum -1243
Rick Perry- Is he even living on earth??

Not everybody. It’s a popular theme here but sometimes people “get it”. Even Speaker Gingrich

Those who stoop to petty bickering are turning off the electorate to the one source from which might come a new leader for this great Republic!

Leaders do not behave like schoolchildren on the playground, and that includes the man who is currently President!

To unseat him and to bring real leadership to the cause of liberty requires a maturity of judgement, a devotion to cause, a refusal to allow media "moderators," or other candidates in the Primary season, to manipulate and distract from the singular cause which confronts lovers of liberty--defeating the so-called "progressive" candidate of the Democrats who is shredding the Constitution as we write!

The way he gave Cain Credit for at least having a real plan was a class act.

The MSM will tear up the bottom of the barrel scraping it for any “dirt” on any conservative candidate...the main thing is to send O into a well-deserved retirement playing golf all day in Hawaii!:)

If you follow the principle of “the most conservative candidate with a good chance of winning,” I think it might be coming down to Newt.

While Cain is a good man, I never have understood his appeal as a candidate; don’t think he’d do well in the long haul.

Perry... still has to turn it around somehow, soon.

The petty fight between Perry and Romney is getting annoying, and tonight Santorum joined the fray. None of the three sounded presidential. Cain could have answered some questions better. By now he should be well rehearsed defending 9-9-9 and have an answer for all the critical comments. He can’t just keep saying go to my web site and see the plan for yourself and leave it at that. He didn’t lose any ground though, but he needs to work with debate coaches and show improvement. Newt did well again.

I like Newt in these debates. And wouldn’t be that upset to see him motor up in the polls a bit.

That said, at the end of the day I’m not sure Newt can ever shed his baggage. He’s been defined on the conservative and liberal sides of the aisle too much over the past 15-years.

“.....but everybody around here is too concerned about ‘baggage’”.

Newt would be a great president.

Every man has been in rooms he would not have wanted to had died in.

AND, the last perfect man was Nailed to a Cross.

I’ll suport Newt.
