Sounds like the Democrat Party platform.
You can sign up to be a part of (i.e. infiltrate) this group.

How is a “progressive, graduated income tax” fair? Did I miss the new definition?
To: randita
Actually, the first four don’t bother me. I’m a little impressed that they include unions in their list of groups who don’t need to be buying politicians. The other 16, no. Sorry. But I don’t hate the first four.

1. Implementing an immediate ban on all private contributions of money and gifts, to all politicians...from Unions...
Well, that takes care of it. It’ll never be ratified.

It took them until item 16 before they zeroed in on anything directly related to “Wall Street”?
Wouldn’t these guys have a more relevant venue in D.C.?

Actually, the first four dont bother me.I agree--it's not all bad, although the implementation would be. They don't ask for the free stuff until they get further down the list.
To: wizardoz
But you have to read further to see that they support public funding of elections - as if that would remove the corruption.

5. A complete reformation of the United States Tax Code to require ALL citizens to pay a fair share of a progressive, graduated income tax
That is gonna be a pretty hard sell to the 47% who currently pay no Federal income tax, including most of their own members. Aside from the progressive rates they are dangerously close to the Tea Party and Herman Cain on this one.
To: SMARTY
I’ll accept the tax stuff if and ONLY if everyone pays. No “poor” exemptions at all.
Like that’s gonna happen...

It’s really amusing that they think they are somehow 99% when it’s more like they are 0.0000000099%. Maybe less.

Obama's lie about Buffet's secretary paying a higher tax rate than Buffet does has taken hold.
The current system of taxation favors the wealthiest Americans, many of whom, pay fewer taxes to the United States Treasury than citizens who earn much less and pay a much higher percentage of income in taxes to the United States Treasury.

“10. Student loan debt relief. Our young People and students are more than $830 billion in debt from education loans alone. Payment and interest on these debts should be deferred for periods of unemployment and the principal on these loans reduced using a corporate tax surcharge.”
I ran up debt, so make someone else pay for it?
Um, no.

Conclusion....These people are nuts.
My conclusion: aside from points 6, 7, 11, and perhaps 20, they have gone out of their way to sound reasonable and are going to gain broad-based support with this.
Even when this movement was just 100 hippie kids camping out in a park, I refused to underestimate the danger here.

I love how they claim to speak for “99%” of the people. They speak for a fraction of 1%, at best.
