He blew one of our passenger planes, with several hundred people on board, out of the sky over Scotland. And the 1986 Berlin discotheque bombing. Libya was blamed for the bombing after telex messages had been intercepted from Libya to the Libyan East Berlin embassy congratulating them on a job well done. Reagan retaliated by ordering airstrikes against Tripoli and city of Benghazi (Operation El Dorado Canyon).
