Morning Joe's All-Liberal Lineup
NewsBusters ^

Sometimes, a show's guest list is enough to illuminate its liberal bias. Take today's Morning Joe. Joe Scarborough has previously spoken of the show's prevailing 10:1 ratio of liberal to conservative guests. But the show took matters that silly millimeter longer today, with a lineup utterly devoid of any Republican or conservative guests, to wit:
Katty Kay--BBC
John Heilemann--New York magazine
Mike Barnicle--former Kennedy-clan aide
Carl Bernstein --Vanity Fair, formerly of Washington Post
Eugene Robinson--Washington Post
David Gregory--NBC host, Meet the Press
Al Sharpton--MSNBC host, activist
Touré --MSNBC contributor, truther

Can Scarborough even be considered a Rino anymore?

FOX & “Friends” isn’t much better. Joe Piscapo? Really?

This morning’s show was especially tough (made it about 20 mins in). I try to watch at least an hour each morning, or until Mika harumphs or sighs 5 times, whichever comes first (usually the latter). It’s my morning ritual of seeing what the lefties are up to.
Oh, and never seen them mention Fast & Furious, and Solyndra only once for under 2 mins in explaining why they won’t cover the ‘non-story’.
Mika is even more annoying than usual (if possible) when says she says she is ‘holding back’ - as in yesterday when Kevin McCarthy completely pwned her for two solid minutes and she spent the rest of yesterday (and today) saying he was lucky she held back.
And the less said about Joe the better, what a waste of oxygen.

This article is a joke, right? Has this idiot never watched Morning Joe before? They never have anything close to balance and frequently have nothing but liberals for the entire 3 hours.
I watch the show because the tenor of the discussion is far more intellectual than the banal banter on Fox and Friends and the information and opinions tend to be more intelligent as well--if you ignore the leftism that pervades it. I wish that Fox News Channel would pattern their morning show after "Joe" rather than the idiotic coffee klatch they have. Then I would have a conservative intellectual discussion program to watch.
Simply put, Morning Joe is the best morning news-discussion show on television, but I never watch it expecting to see a conservative . . . oh yeah and quite often I have seen a far worse line up than the one the author describes.
This article is sort of like saying "the night is dark."

No! Scarborough drank the MSNBC Kool Aid a long time ago. Their paycheck to him moved him to the Manhatten Elite Dark Side.

I love Mika. She sits there attempting to prove her relevance by interjecting bovine inanities on topics about which she hasn't a clue and by making her little faces and--as you said--sighing as though there was some small degree of intelligent thought occasionally passing through her otherwise empty head.
Allegedly she is there because of who her father is, but I think it has more to do with comic relief.

As the idiot in question [governs=Finkelstein], permit me to respond.
I watch Morning Joe virtually every day, writing about it often at NewsBusters. I’m well aware of its liberal-heavy guest list. You’ll note that the first paragraph of today’s item links to a previous article in which Scarborough admitted that historically the show has had a 10:1 ratio of liberal to conservative guests.
Even so, it seems noteworthy when Morning Joe manages to get through its full three hours without a single Republican or conservative guest; hence my item today.

Scarborough was instructed to go full-on liberal, or proof of his involvement in the murder of that intern that showed up dead in his office would be released.

Yes, I think the Morning Joe is a better production than Fox and Friends. However, it is difficult to watch that show for very long for the reasons stated in this post. It sickens me to see what Joe Scarborough has become considering he was once considered a promising “young Turk” in the Republican Party.
Recently, I have noticed that both “The Five” and “Fox and Friends” have started using the popular music transitions to and from commercials which was a distinctive feature of the Morning Joe show.

I meant "idiot" with all due respect, of course. :)
I just think it was somewhat naive considering MSNBC's overall political agenda and my own experience watching "Joe"--I've gotten to the point where I am surprised when they do have a conservative and especially so if they give him more than 5 minutes of air time. I am also surprised if Joe actually chooses to be a conservative rather than the snotty little egoist he usually plays. He must have been the least popular guy among the freshmen of '94.

“The Five” is a very good program. I’m glad to see Fox add that to the line up—even if Beckel is a complete jerk. :)

I saw where Heilemann started to direct his talking points against Marco Rubio and circumstances involving his parents immigration 55 years ago. Pretty weak stuff, but it shows the Dems. are fearful of Rubio and want to start taking him down now.

The regulars on “Morning Joe” are the nerds from your high school cafeteria all-grown up. They transitioned from being fearful church mice to self-important know-it-all’s while attending (mostly) the best colleges. They demostrate every morning that they haven’t lost their touch for the undergraduate Bull-Session.

Heilemann is of course a liberal, but normally has some good insights on the news. Lately though it seems to me that he is letting his more partisan side show.
In addition to the point you make, at the top of the show he was defending Biden’s insinuation that Republicans will be responsible for more murders and rapes if they don’t vote for Obama’s latest stimulus slush fund.

I think he's more of a tool used by MSNBC to try to make communism more palatable to people who consider themselves moderate.

BTW, I concur with your opinions about Morning Joe. Fox & Friends has far more fluff, and I'm growing wearing of seeing Bushies like Rove and Perino in their usual cast of characters.
