Another recent poll showed the number as high as 26% of Republicans that would not vote for a Mormon.

And I saw another poll that I can’t find a link to at the moment that said something like 40%+ of evangelicals know somoene who wouldn’t vote for a Mormon for president.

Romney can’t win if even 5% of Republicans stay home much less 20% or more. A vote for Romney is a vote for Obama.

I can’t stand Ann. She should be a democrat. Every time she is on Hannity my wife and I change the channel or mute it. I’m so sick of Fox pimping Romney I may stop watching. The RNC called last night looking for $. I told them thet since they want the Liberal Romney as the nominee they will NEVER get another dime from me. I said that I only give money to Tea Party candidates!

Putting a RINO up as the presidential candidate is a losing strategy.

It works in only two cases:

1. When the RINO has served faithfully as a conservative vice-president and gets swept in by the remaining reservoir of goodwill from the conservative administration. See: Bush I, 1988.

2. When the RINO is successfully sold as a conservative because the runner-up nomination challenger is so much worse. See: Bush II, 2000.

Long story short is that Case I is the only way Mitt gets in. Not possible in 2012 and probably not possible in 2016 or 2020 because he will be too old.

Case II does not apply because Rick Perry is no longer the runner-up and they are a virtual wash as far as RINOism goes.
