Aye, Gingrinch is rippin’ smart, capable in a debate.

IMHO...

Ultimately he is far too much of a politician to stick to any sort of principles.

The only possible way I would begin to think that he was a changed man from the guy who schmoozes and wheels and deals with the left wing is if he publicly admitted it and went off on some tangent of sticking to principle. But IMHO it’s just not who he is.

He’s starting to sound like he gets what the Tea Party and like-minded people are thinking (and what the nation really needs), but I just don’t see how one could really trust that he would not horse-trade away something significant for social conservatives in order to get what’s needed for some economic change, etc.

Yes, that’s sort of the problem: Gingrich “gets” the Tea Party finally. But he never seemed to instinctively understand it.

A politician’s instincts are very telling. And I’m not so sure about Newt’s.
