I've already got a two step process to heat my home with wood.
1) Load wood into furnace.

OK.. it seems like some are only reading the headline and not watching the video.
They have developed a two step process to turn cellulose fiber (biomass) into OIL.
Naw.....I went out and tried to put some sticks into my car’s gas tank. They won’t go in.

but there’s probably a very good reason that it isn’t used beyond an experimental scale.
And just WHAT is wrong with drilling for oil, fracking for NG, and mining for coal?

you don’t believe this stuff was put here for us to USE.
You gotta use the smaller ones. (But make sure the wood is DEAD.)

OK, I’ll admit it. This looks pretty cool. I wonder if it is more cost effective than burning ethonol from corn.
Very impressive. I hope the new process can be made cost-efficient when they scale it up.
Americans knew how to build wood burning gasification units to power gasoline farm equipment and cars back in WW2. Its not that hard if you can weld. The tech works and its proven.

You use a wood chipper and then they go in just fine. And they melt into the gas like ice cubes in water.

Yeah. I’m guilty. I did watch the video but I just can’t resist the opportunity to make a smart alec comment.
Germany, in WWI when it was blockaded by the British fleet and couldn’t get oil, ran cars and trucks on stoves that gasified wood so it would run the engines. The Nazis did the same towards the end of WWII when their source of Romanian oil was blocked. Has America come that point of energy disaster? I think not if we drill baby drill.
