Have you yet counted the number of walks to Cards players that made it onto the runs total? errors and walks kept the Cards alive. They won it on force of will! I congratulated them.

After 1996 the Cards threw Mabry under the bus, which brought McGwire but no World Series. 1996 is the year LaRussa was outmanaged by Bobby Cox in the playoffs, IIRC.
Young is probably in the wrong lineup spot, better for 3 or 5.
