FNA ^ | October 29, 2011

TEHRAN (FNA) - Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari on Saturday reiterated Tehran's plan to deploy naval vessels near the maritime borders of the United States, and said Americans are not entitled to opposition as all nations have the right of voyage in international waters.

Speaking to FNA here in Tehran on Saturday, Admiral Sayyari said Iran is serious about deployment near the United States maritime borders and this rigidness has worried the US officials.

"Americans are worried about themselves. The Iranian army is present in free waters and will continue its presence," he said.

He said international rules and regulations entitle all countries to the right to freely sail and be present in the high seas, and added, "I ask if the United States maritime borders are not in free waters? If they are, then why should we not go there?"

Not a problem for me. They will just give our Navy an opportunity for a close up look at what they have. And we can always hope they might accidentally cross the line and suffer the consequences.

My first thought, too. Great opportunity to sink them all when the crunch comes, or it least it would be if we didn’t have a Muslim in the White House.

I guess if they want to position a set of conveniently located targets, why complain?

Could be a chance to enhance the tourist industry by using glass-bottom boats to view the defunct Iranian Navy.

At the rate we’re dismantling our Navy, would not surprise me if Iran had a bigger one than ours in a few decades.

I will be so damned happy when we have a real president in the White House. One who without question would bitch slap these barbarians back to Tehran.

Wait till the satellite passes overhead, then jam them and sink them.

Navy? What navy? We didn’t see a navy here.

Something like this wouldn’t have “worried” Reagan. In fact, I don’t seem to recall a similar incident when Reagan was leading this nation. He’s the one that worried our enemies, not the other way around.

Yep, the day that Reagan was sworn in, the hostages that were held by Iran were freed.

Bush was lax on Iran too. But Obama’s even worse. They (supposedly) attempt to assassinate the Saudi ambassador in a DC restaurant, and Obama’s response is to pull all our troops out of Iraq. The Iranians might be forgive for thinking that, with this President, they can do pretty much anything they want with impunity. So why shouldn’t they sail their warships up the Potomac?
