Ron Paul is just a Washington game player; he has no more real respect for the Founders’ vision than Barney Frank does.

If you’re suggesting I’m posting under two accounts

Actually that never occurred to me.

Why are you here?

Because it's one of the best places on the web to keep up with political events, general news, and LEARN facts needed to debate and convince others.

Being athist (sic) and non-Christian is one thing. Being an athist (sic) and non-Christian troll is something else entirely...

Yeah! What you said.

I will vote for Conservatives, but from now on, only for Conservatives - no more Bushes, Doles, or McCains.

Amen, brother!!!

Yeah. We've been disappointed. We need more "spine" in Congress.

Correct! Romney can get his support elsewhere.

Our side has conservatives running against him for the nomination, so Romney shouldn’t even be a consideration.

Hence there isn’t anything about Romney open to debate.

From your FR profile page:

“Along with inalienable rights, God gave us a brain and a backbone . . . let’s use them both!”

Life and Liberty are inalienable rights along with the rights to bear arms, right to free speech, free press, freedom of ASSOCIATION, freedom to promote like-minded candidates and to oppose those you wish to oppose and to control the use, content and direction of your own personal private property and electronic printing press, i.e., freerepublic.com in this case.

Romney’s record shows that he tramples on all of my inalienable rights. I therefore use my brain, my backbone and my inalienable rights to openly, fully and completely oppose him.

I have my God-given inalienable rights, brain, and backbone and I use them to the utmost. Have done so all my life and have no intention of changing, despite the wailing and gnashing of the teeth, and hand-wringing of some of our weaker brothers and sisters. Thankyouverymuch, newbie.

Now if you wish to support liberal progressive RINO Romney, be my guest. But you’ll have to do it elsewhere.

Karl Rove and the elite GOP establishment political whores can shove RINO Romney up their wazoos!

What the hell are people supposed to post if Romney wins the nomination?

Speaking only for myself, I'll be posting against both Obama and Romney and for some third party candidate or a Sarah Palin write-in campaign.

I have been getting my news first hand and unfiltered from freerepublic since the Kuwait invasion by IRAQ. Your views are the mirror image of mine and I belive this website is the last bastion of freedom loving Americans and freedom loving people around the world. Keep up the good work. It is time for all of us to get off the sidelines.

I am humbled by your willingness to stand in the gap until those like me will rally to your side. I have been a lurker and am now forced to step out of the shadows. I am contributing today! God bless you and your commitment to Our country, Our Constitution, and Our freedoms!

Turn off the TV and turn out to public events, write your congressmen, whatever it takes (with civil discourse but determination) to reclaim our nation and our government so that “of the people, by the people, and for the people, shall not perish”.

If by some slim chance Romney gets the nomination, what will we talk about with reference to the election? Will we still be able to express our hatred of Mormonism, at least?

Who is "we"?....you mean there are MORE covert Mitt supporters trying to sound intelligent by asking condescending off-topic and inflammatory questions?

A Small Statement On Romneycare

James Madison

Click The Pic To Support FR

Annals of Congress, House of Representatives, 3rd Congress, 1st Session, page 170 (1794-01-10)
The Annals summarize speeches in the third person, with the actual text of Madison’s quote as follows:

“Mr. Madison wished to relieve the sufferers, but was afraid of establishing a dangerous precedent, which might hereafter be perverted to the countenance of purposes very different from those of charity. He acknowledged, for his own part, that he could not undertake to lay his finger on that article in the Federal Constitution which granted a right of Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.”

You’re right. Free Republic is bigger than me (thank you FReepers) and so are our goals and principles. And I’m not about to change our goals or set aside our principles so a few RINO supporters can argue a case for an abortionist, gay rights pushing, gun grabbing, global warming nutcase, big government, mandate loving, socialist healthcare pushing, anti-Reagan, anti-tea party liberal progressive RINO and lying political two-bit whore!!

Thank you very much!!

I oppose Romney, but I think not allowing that viewpoint to exist at FR only weakens FR. If conservative candidates are better than Romney, they can win in the market. Losing nondisruptive Romney supporters makes it seem like they have to be eliminated, because the other side can’t hold their own. Just $.02.

. I agree. A conservative argument might even swing some to the right side

I think that's why most of us are here, but I confess I don't understand your criticisms. This site, since I have been here, has not been about debate, it has been about activism and impacting the political landscape.

I know you've been here a long time, but have you ever read Jim's statement on the home page? That was one of the very first things that I did the week of 9/11/01.

Statement by the founder of Free Republic

Free Republic Jim Robinson

Posted on March 22, 2004 9:22:17 PM EST by Jim Robinson

I posted the following statement to our front page in response to the criticism I'm receiving lately as to not being fair and balanced and perceived mistreatment of trolls and assorted malcontents. Got news for all, I'm NOT fair and balanced. I'm biased toward God, country, family, liberty and freedom and against liberalism, socialism, anarchism, wackoism, global balonyism and any other form of tyranny. Hope this helps.

Statement by the founder of Free Republic:

In our continuing fight for freedom, for America and our constitution and against totalitarianism, socialism, tyranny, terrorism, etc., Free Republic stands firmly on the side of right, i.e., the conservative side. Believing that the best defense is a strong offense, we (myself and those whom I'm trying to attract to FR) support the strategy of taking the fight to the enemy as opposed to allowing the enemy the luxury of conducting their attacks on us at home on their terms and on their schedule.

Therefore, we wholeheartedly support the Bush Doctrine of pre-emptive strikes on known terrorist states and organizations that are believed to present a clear threat to our freedom or national security. We support our military, our troops and our Commander-in-Chief and we oppose turning control of our government back over to the liberals and socialists who favor appeasement, weakness, and subserviency. We do not believe in surrendering to the terrorists as France, Germany, Russia and Spain have done and as Kerry, Kennedy, Clinton and the Democrats, et al, are proposing.

As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty.

Free Republic is private property. It is not a government project, nor is it funded by government or taxpayer money. We are not a publicly owned entity nor are we an IRS tax-free non-profit organization. We pay all applicable taxes on our income. We are not connected to or funded by any political party, news agency, or any other entity. We sell no merchandise, product or service, and we offer no subscriptions or paid memberships. We accept no paid advertising or promotions. We are funded solely by donations (non tax deductible gifts) from our readers and participants.

We aggressively defend our God-given and first amendment guaranteed rights to free speech, free press, free religion, and freedom of association, as well as our constitutional right to control the use and content of our own personal private property. Despite the wailing of the liberal trolls and other doom & gloom naysayers, we feel no compelling need to allow them a platform to promote their repugnant and obnoxious propaganda from our forum. Free Republic is not a liberal debating society. We are conservative activists dedicated to defending our rights, defending our constitution, defending our republic and defending our traditional American way of life.

Our God-given liberty and freedoms are not negotiable.

May God bless and protect our men and women in uniform fighting for our freedom and may God continue to bless America.

Jim Robinson

What the hell are people supposed to post if Romney wins the nomination?

We'll still be talking about conservative candidates and conservative causes. I don't think Romney will get it though, but if he does, I think it would be boost to starting a competitive third party movement.
