Poll Says Cain, Romney Tied In Florida

Herman Cain is statistically tied for first place with former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney among registered Republicans in the key early voting state of Florida, according to a new Suffolk University/WSVN-TV poll.

Phone calls for the survey were wrapping up as news broke that Cain faced allegations of sexual harassment while head of the National Restaurant Association -- allegations that could affect his candidacy. The poll shows that the former Godfather's Pizza CEO remains a favorite in Florida just over a month after he won the state's straw poll -- the event that marked the beginning of the "Cain surge" and Texas Gov. Rick Perry's fall.

Cain took second place with 24 percent support, behind Romney who took 25 percent. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich came in third with 11 percent and Perry placed fourth with nine percent. Some 20 percent of Sunshine State Republicans said they were still undecided.

Cain was just grilled by Fox News....He did very well I thought. and it helped him to have those tough questions posed to him. Not one softball question.

I know that Fox likes romney, but I thought they were fair with Cain, albeit tough. Seemed like Steve Hays likes Cain..the body language was more open to Cain’s responses.

So much for Romney and his lackeys conspiring to move the primary up two months in an effort to shorten the time Cain and Perry had to make Florida a race.

This week is not looking to good for Romney. The Cain smear is blowing up in his face (even if he wasn’t behind it). Huntsman, of all people, has launched a devastating ad detailing in 30 seconds Romney flip-flopping in his own words. Now this.

Huntsman is not such a bad guy.

Steve is the true journalist. The others were , to me, trying to catch him and display their brilliance.

I totally agree. Especially Krauthammer. My impression was that he was very condescendingly trying to trip up Cain with word games. Cain didn’t buy into it. So refreshing to have a man of real integrity running for President. He is what he is and makes no apologies for it. I don’t think the beltway denizens quite know what to make of him. GO CAIN!!!

These allegations against Cain are just pitiful. He has a LONG way to go to catch up with Bill Clinton.

I thought Krauthammer’s demeanor was uncalled for in the interview.

Krauthammer showed his mean streak and lack of character as he addressed Herman Cain.

I am beginning to lose a lot of respect for Krauthammer.

He is a known nemesis of Herman Cain's and should have just passed on tonight's program. Krauthammer was foaming at the mouth, waiting to show his “superior” intellect. Instead, Charles Krauthammer displayed his self-inflated ego. I thought Herman did well with the “Inquisition”.

Good news for Cain.

Also, there is another PPP poll coming up showing that he’s up in ME.

If Cain can take Florida back from Romney he’ll be ahead at present in 15 states and 202 EC votes, just behind Romney with 17 and 214 EC votes.

Flipping Florida means that whomever wants to win the nomination needs to flip states where Cain is in the lead. I don’t believe it’s possible even with a total Perry collapse for Romney to earn the nomination without Florida.

Cain up 29-21-19 over Newt and Romney. Romney 3rd in North Carolina.

o’reilly kept him on for two full segments. Anyone who missed it has GOT to see the rerun! Cain was magnificent! I mean it. Absolutely fantastic. And I am truly not a gushy person.

Cain talked on o’reilly about everything from 999 to Iran. I am telling you. This was one of his best interviews and he was as clear as a bell. His explanation of 999 was stunning in its simplicity. Even a caveman could understand it.
