I’ve been uncomfortable with the way that people have been talking about the two or three women mentioned in the Politico article. From the beginning of this story, people have been hateful toward the women and called them names, as FlingWingFlyer does in post # 4.
As far as I can tell, this is a press-generated story. Politico’s hack thinks he can make his name on this “scandal.”
The more people attack unknown women, the more likely they are to need that lawyer, even if he comes off as an ambulance chaser in this report. The more we hear “prove it!” and the hateful comments about their characters, even more so.
We don’t know a thing about any of the women and there’s no evidence that the women are the source of the leak. There were lots of people who knew, the other NRA board members, other employees, and then all of the lawyers’ staff. From what was in the first Politico article, it looks to me as though the leak came from a former campaign staffer and was shored up by the National Restaurant Association board member.
If Cain’s the man we all hope he is, he’ll tell people to move on and to leave these women alone.
The problem is, do these two women even actually exist?
If we learned anything at all from the Bush years it is that turning the other cheek while remaining silent is utter stupidity.
