When I have severe pain, I stop by my doctor's office unannounced and request a nubain shot or a tuidol shot. I've had several orthopedic surgeries and have an occasionak back spasm which incapacitates me. Oral meds do very little to deal with pain. A shot of the above, or demerol if you can have someone else drive you is best.

Any meds injected are far more effective than oral pills. That also goes for antibiotics, anti-inflamatories, prednisone, and vitamins.
