If Obamuzzie thot for a minute that melting down Iran would guarantee his re-election then Imanutjob can kiss his own raga$$ goodbye. My first question might be How much help the Soddies would be?

I have a hard time believing Ubama would do that much.

As usual he will not lead..like Libya he'll wait til the jobs done and depending on the succceess of it, which it will be with Israel at the lead, and then he'll toot his own horn. But Obama has clearly stated he soes not support an israeli attack on Iran..via Peneetta running that errand to all concerned.

I sure hope you’re wrong but the likely-hood is certainly there it could go that way, but I think we’ll hear more saber rattling and manuvering of ships etc...all about who’s going to really take the first shot...more than once we’ve come up to almost the level of the Cuban Crisis...and there just a finger away from Nuclear War.

How much of his base has he lost since escalation in Afghanistan and intervention in Uganda? How much over assassinating US citizens and civilians (Bin Laden)? I hear crickets.

Your thoughts seem logical to me. Iran is best handled quietly instead of pouring gas on the flame with open aggression. Wow, I need to stockpile my stockpile... And brush up on Revelation.

While Celente and Faber are correct as far as they go they also are describing an earlier time. The USA is the only country left with serious war making/ending capability. One key feature lacking in all the rest, including the Ruskies and Chicoms, is transport. They don’t have any. No one else has enough rolling/flying stock to get a meaningful force out of its own way. The Chicoms seem to be trying to put enough of a fleet together to get to Taiwan——big bleeping deal. The Taiwans have a lot to say about that clever bit of thinking. The entire Asia Minor complex can’t put a decent camel train together let alone a foreign invasion force. The Turks, for instance, can’t handle the Kurd bandits so they sure as bleep aren’t going to bother anyone else, even the Cretes. The entire Eurotrash theater couldn’t put on a decent fight with itself-—remember, the Germans are going down to a 180 K military, a really far cry from the 12 million they put in the field last time they got frisky.

The financial bust is going to happen. Way too many people/countries have been spending way too much of other people’s money and now it is gone. there is not the production capacity to pay off the Eurodebt under the best of times, never mind no-growth times. The Gleeks lied to the Euros about their debt load. Now the rest of the Euros are lying to each other about how bad the debt/production problem is. But in my view it’s just going to be a slow motion train wreck. A few politicians/bankers might get their throats cut but nothing really dramatic because the whole dam bunch are out of gas. Proof: Witness the wimpya$$ effort put on by the current “öccupy” movement and that bunch even seems to have financial backing.

And by the way-—the only thing it takes to knock out Iran’s nuke program is eliminating their electrical generation-——they just can’t make nukes or kibbles without megawatts. Remember we used the entire capacity of the TVA complex to make Little Boy and Fatman.

Yeah, sneer at our military. The same military that has fought and died in Iraq and Afghanistan alongside you.

Frankly, fu*k you.

The French and Canadians have been fighting and dying in Afghanistan alongside Americans. And if you knew your history, the Canadians need justify their courage and bravery to no one. Oh, and you can take your sneering at the UK and shove it.

3% of the UK population is Muslim (and that includes white and black or mixed race converts).

97% of the UK is non Muslim, 94% is white European.

There was sarcasm in my comment s/

The French and the Canadians have more fortitude in this fight than the Obama administration. You took my statement the wrong way completely.

No, Haaretz is equivalent to the New York Times. Very liberal.

Yes, I did.

Apologies for the unpleasant and aggressive language. There can be some unpleasant Anglophobia on these pages and sometimes I simply snap. I am usually sarcastic, not confrontational.

Again, many apologies.

Oh dear.

You have shown much more grace than I would had I got the reply you did. How embarrassing that I have to apologise for two crude posts last night on this thread.

Many apologies for the post, I was angry at the (what I saw as) bashing of British soldiers and Britain. Which genuinely does happen here at times. I am not usually that crude and aggressive in my replies.

Again, my apologies for the unnecessary and appalling language I sent your way.

Life is too short to be bitter and angry. I can go to any number of other websites and spout off vulgarities, but I choose to stay here at FR and have a meaningful dialogue.

I am may not always articulate my point too well and in this case I was trying to poke fun at the fact that our allies are doing far more than what this country should be doing.

Better luck next time!

Agreed, but the simple fact is that politicians do use the media in that way (admittedly mostly for domestic reasons) all the time. Our late prime Minister Mr Tony Blair was particularly adept at the practice.

The soldiers of the UK are some of the best trained and best equipped in the world, and our soldiers are proud to stand with them in battle. However, there are too many people in the UK that are all too willing to turn their back on their countrymen who are fighting and dying in various places around the world, just as there are too many in the U.S. who are doing the same. It is very sad to me.
