Is "Black Bloc" hijacking Occupy Oakland?

(CBS News) Peaceful protests by the Occupy Oakland movement were overshadowed this week by violent clashes between a small group of demonstrators and police. Now there's concern among the majority of protesters that their message is being hijacked. CBS News correspondent John Blackstone looks into this latest development.
It could be seen as a battle for the image of the Occupy movement. One demonstrator struggles to put out the flames of a burning barricade as others masked and dressed in black pull him away.
It wasn't the only time during a huge Occupy demonstration in Oakland this week that protesters found themselves on opposite sides. When dozens of black clad marchers began attacking a supermarket, others urged them to stop -- finally linking arms to protect the store from further destruction.
One demonstrator, Sheik Anderson, distanced most of the protesters from the violence.
"We called the mayor's office the moment we understood what was going on over there," said Anderson. "That was an anonymous action, that was nothing to do with Occupy Oakland.
To many demonstrators, a sinister mask, fashioned on Guy Fawkes, the revolutionary who attempted to blow up the British Parliament buildings more than 400 years ago, has become a worldwide symbol of anarchy and revolution.

You have summed it up exactly. I guess I didn’t want FReepers who haven’t ever seen the movie to assume that it somehow was based on the concept of “socialism is good”. It actually was a very good movie entailing how government can take over a society and people can take their rights back IMHO.
‘Sheik Anderson’?
There is a guy who shows up on many newspaper comment sections that is stating they are fed agents infiltrating the OWS to provoke attack. LOL.
I don’t understand why terrorists always feel the need to cover their faces. They should be proud of what they are doing. You can bet mommy and daddy would love to see junior on TV throwing molotov cocktails and fighting with the police.
Riiiiiiight. Way to go, CBS! Just love how you defend the “peaceful” anarchists but trashed the Tea Party! I think that spelled B-I-A-S, right? Naw. Not CBS. No bias there.
But still, aren’t you racists for blaming African-Americans for hijacking the peaceful anarchist riots and turning them into non-peaceful African-American anarchist riots?
I suppose you’re operating on the assumption that the vast majority of Americans are stupid and uneducated and will believe your garbage. But, you know, there are a few of us out here in fly-over-America that are highly educated, very aware, remember contemporary history older han a week, and have fully functional, exquistly sensitive BS detectors.
I just read an article about “mikey moore” over on WND from his “appearance” at the Denver OWS and he actually did say they (owsers) needed to be careful because they were being infiltrated by the govt who was trying to incite violence. You called it. I guess they didn’t think about the tea party infiltrators yet. LOL! Then he had the nerve to fuss at a reporter when asked if he wasn’t part of the 1%. Less moore please. What a bufoon. And, it was a local CBS reporter at that. Not a FOXer. HUH?
A phrase which has been said by the locals in just about every situation involving the worst atrocities in human history; “It can’t happen here”, -or- “we are more civilized/advanced/humane than that”. After the atrocity those phrases are preceded by “I thought...”
The Constitution. Learn it, or regret not learning it.
The right is all too willing to wait and see what happens next.
Are there not laws that were used against the KKK which can apply to these masked anarchists?
The Vendetta (Guy Fawkes) mask was popular at a Tea Party rally I went to way back in April 2009. But the Left co-opts and the media conveniently forgets such things.
Wherever liberals congregate a circus is born.
These demonstrations are a street version of the democrats in the US Senate under Harry Reid.
Or, even more so, what the House of Representatives was like when democrats had the majority and Nancy Pelosi was Speaker of the House.
A Garden???
In Oakland???
In November??
LMAO
Guy Fawkes Mask is a symbol of the person who failed in a plot to kill the King of England in 1600+/-. The first celebration of Guy Fawkes hanging (which failed because he fell from the platform and broke his neck) was Nov. 5, 1605 or 6. The people celebrated with large bonfires.
They don’t undestand the economy, but they do understand violence and the shadow organizers do as well, a must see video of the Oakland Occupukes beating down on people as they illegally try to “occupy” the Convention Center.

V for Vendetta was a thinly veiled shot at the Bush administration. The premise was a right-wing government who used a war on terror as a pretext to seize power and implement fascistic measures. Sound familiar? And the blowing up of the government buildings at the end was an expression of the leftist fantasy that the Bush administration would meet a violent end. At some level the movie could be seen as a general warning about the government getting over on the people. But it really was desiged to serve as leftist agitprop, to turn people against Bush and the “neoconservatives”.
That would make a good cartoon — two panels side by side, one panel with a person reading a scroll, holding it in his hands. The other panel, the same person, with hands in pretty much the same position but holding onto prison bars instead.
