In my first reading of the article I somehow missed the fact that the man had written a book .

At least this part is accurate. Bin Laden did have an AKSU in several of the videos I have seen. I know because I coveted it on several occasions.

Given the extent to which Obama has aided AQ/the Muslim Brotherhood in the ongoing “Arab Spring”, it is doubtful that the raid would have been kept secret from them in any case. Obama’s contacts would have been informed immediately after (or even before) the raid. In fact, AQ might have been the source of the intel on “Osama”. Even if one believes that Osama was still alive to be killed “by Obama”, Osama was old, sick and ineffective. Trading “Osama” for help in taking over several Arab states would have been a good deal for ambitious younger members of AQ.

I served with Chuck Pfarrer at ST-4. His platoon relieved mine in Beirut in 1983. He went on to serve in ST-6. He’s the real deal. Since he left the Navy he’s been a screenwriter and author. He’s had severe health problems, (cancer related) and I’m happy to hear he’s still alive. What he’s writing is going to be from primary sources. If he writes it, I believe it, within certain limits. (He is trying to sell books.) But rest assured: Chuck Pfarre was a real-deal SEAL from Team Six.

I was a little surprised on F&F this morning that Brian Kilmeade was arguing with him based on conversations with “other people in the know”. To Chuck P’s credit, he didn’t get riled or say what I was saying to the TV along the lines of “you ignorant twit”...

As a former intel/SO/spooky JAG, his answers, explanations and analysis struck me as based on real-world experience and were completely credible.
