Did you read the grand jury indictment? If you did (and knowing the control that Paterno has had in Happy Valley for so long), how could you think that he did not know what this guy was doing
at least in '98? But he knew for sure in '02 and continued to allow this serial child rapist access to PSU? In '07, Sandusky showed up at a (closed) practice with young boy...whaaa???
And you surely understand that the DA would not go after this PSU crew if they did not have the goods. Really.
As I have posted previously (numerous times!), if Paterno knew what kind of monster Sandusky was and looked the other way, then he should share a cell with Sandusky until dead. The thing is, Paterno is the biggest target - - nobody ever heard of any of these other clowns - - and so the tendency is to lay the entire blame at his feet. But Paterno witnessed nothing with his own eyes and so depended on others to investigate and act accordingly.
All I'm trying to do is keep a little perspective until more is known. the grand jury report and prosecutors charges are only the beginning. There will be a whole lot more stories cascading out of this scandal, and then let the chips fall. If it turns out Paterno acted selfishly or maliciously, I will happily turn the key on his cell door and laugh in his face.
