OHIO: Obama holds big leads
The Hill ^ | NOVEMBER 9, 2011 | Christian Heinze

Democrats have more than just a win on Issue 2 to cheer them in Ohio.

Barack Obama has opened up double-digit leads on all his Republican opponents, except Mitt Romney, whom he still leads by a big margin.

PPP's survey.

a. Barack Obama 50% Mitt Romney 41%

b. Barack Obama 50% Herman Cain 39%

c. Barack Obama 51% Newt Gingrich 38%

d. Barack Obama 50% Ron Paul 36%

e. Barack Obama 51% Michele Bachmann 37%

f. Barack Obama 53% Rick Perry 36%

The good news for Obama? He racks up those huge margins with an approval rating of -8%.

The really good news for Obama? His approval rating with Democrats is only 73%, but he gets 88%-92% of Dems in head-to-head matchups with Republicans.

The best news for Obama? As pollster Tom Jensen notes, Republicans can't win the White House without Ohio.

Finally, PPP's results often take a lot of heat because the group is a Democratic polling firm. But they were one of the most accurate pollsters of the past, few elections, and they nailed Ohio's Issue 2 results to within 1%.

“The good news for Obama? He racks up those huge margins with an approval rating of -8%.”

How does that square with the ‘Obamacare’ smackdown here in Ohio yesterday?

It doesn't necessarily bother me that he is leading at this point, but I am very disturbed by the fact that he is polling above 50%.

Can't say I am too surprised though. We have been so busy trashing each other, all the Kenyan has had to do is sit back and laugh while we do all his dirty work for him.

Well, Hussein and his fellators in the media and the unions were highly influential in the recent election in Ohio.

So let’s see how things pan out for Ohio as Hussein’s economy continues to tank.

I think these numbers, in the wake of the recent election, are very volatile...and not necessarily indicative of what will happen as time goes.

“How does that square with the ‘Obamacare’ smackdown here in Ohio yesterday?”

The Establishment GOP wants to annoint the architect of Obamacare as the nominee, and everybody else appears terrified to bring it up for some strange reason. Voters are angry... but must instinctively feel that Republicans will cave to Big Government yet again.

Agreed. I have several yellow dog Democrat union family members who voted NO on ISSUE 2 but will never vote for Obama again.

At one point in 1980, Jimmy Carter led Ronald Reagan by 30 points.

Carter led nationally by seven points in the last weeks of the campaign.

We know how 1980 turned out. (Now if we only had a Reagan).

I detect a very foul smell concerning the accuracy of those numbers.

Kind of like a smell coming from the downwind side of the pasture where the bull is kept.

—I agree. But we must get back on the offensive against Obama’s failures and Obamacare.

I don’t think Obama is ahead by much there. I believe this poll is meant to demoralize our side right now due to the union vote in Ohio.

Right now, they have made inroads in destroying our side in the race and they are trying to depress us.

ABSOLUTELY correct!

“O” has truly angered and maligned a LOT of voters and given his style and agenda, many more voters who might have considered voting for his re election, will be alienated as well.

There is lots of time for “O” to continue manhandling voters.

—Could well be. PPP has always been very sneaky and opportunistic in their (push) polling. But we could use a good wake up call- why not crush them next year?

Why the hell would anyone vote for a Republican when all they appear to be, is a grouchy version of a Democrat, with no principals except getting elected or re-elected.

I believe we need to start a Conservative Party and forget about republicans as they are no alternative to democrats and just want take a slower route to the same destination.

I really doubt that Barry wins Ohio in 2012. However, it doesn’t mean we won’t end up supporting a Barry-Lite alternative as the GOP nominee.

Yes, Q.

The Hussein cult’s attempt at distracting us has been effective....

Imagine not hearing anything about Solyndra, Fast and Furious, terrible employment numbers, and Hussein’s hatred of the Jewish leader of Israel has been ignored everywhere except Fox.

Not that anyone else would talk about it...but I would really like to hear our candidates addressing this instead of the bimbo nonsense.
