I read that Paterno reported it to the higher ups at the university...wasn’t it THEIR responsibility to call the authorities? (Not that he could NOT have, or could have told the administration he would go public if they did not...like that would happen.../s)
Paterno appears to be the only one who tried to do anything about it.
