It makes no sense at all to fire Paterno and keep McQueary.Paterno was the former Athletic Director at PSU and knew what the school's legal responsibility. McQueary, at the time, was a graduate asssistance who wasn't aware of the school's legal responsibility.
Also, Paterno was involved with the retirement negotiations that gave Sandusky emeritus status at PSU. McQueary was not.
