The Chicago Red Line runs north to south in the city, traversing the downtown business/entertainment district. Both Sox Park and Wrigley Field are just steps from stops on the line. A great way to get around.
EXCEPT that the southern end of the line—south of Sox Park—is abutted by neighborhoods that spawn a vicious criminal element. The Red Line provides these savages with an easy way to reach the downtown area, where civilized Chicagoans go to work and play. The defenseless elderly man was assaulted at a stop in the central business district, by young thugs using the train to return to their self-constructed jungle on the South Side. Some have suggested ending the line at Sox Park. But that would be unfair to the handful of productive Southsiders who need a way to get downtown to work. Concealed carry is the only answer, but Emmanuel et al. do everything they can to make it virtually impossible for honest people to carry handguns. The thugs, of course, are armed to the teeth..
