New PAC Seeks Tea Party Support for Gingrich
Roll Call ^ | 11/10/11 | Janie Lorber

Solutions 2012, a new super PAC supporting Newt Gingrich, will focus on reaching out to tea party activists, the group’s founder told Roll Call.

Solutions 2012 founder Charlie Smith, a Denver-based strategist and former chair of the College Republican National Committee, sent out an email Wednesday night to at least 150,000 addresses on the NationalTeaPartyAlert.com mailing list trumpeting the former Speaker as the only candidate that can stand up to President Barack Obama in a national debate.

Nice try, but we’re smart enough to read the date on the article you linked to. It’s from Oct. 25th.

A new CBS News Poll was released TODAY:

“And there has been some movement among Tea Party supporters as well; their support for Cain has declined from 32 percent to 19 percent. Romney has lost support among men, while Gingrich’s support among that group has increased eight points.”

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-57322894-503544/poll-cain-tops-3-way-race-with-romney-gingrich/

*

“21 percent of Republican primary voters who say they are Tea Party supporters said Gingrich was their choice. 19 percent said their choice was Cain, and 11 percent said their choice was Romney.”

“That represents a shift in Tea Party sentiments as measured by the last CBS News poll, which was release on Oct. 25. Then Cain, with 32 percent, was the top choice of Republican primary voters who said they were Tea Party supporters, while Romney was second with 18 percent and Gingrich was third with 15 percent.”

“According to this CBS poll, Gingrich has gained 6 points among Tea Party supporters since Oct. 25 and Cain has lost 13 points.”

Newt is old, fat & a Washington insider. He's had his 15 minutes of fame & should shut up & do something constructive!!

Not surprising that a former chair of the Republican National Committee would be behind this. Newt is just not Tea Party compatible!

We are in a war for our country & we need a Conservative president to clean up Washington, D.C.

Debates don't make a President. The consequences we have to live with AFTER the debates is the problem with Newt. You can't trust him.

I don’t give a flying fig how his wife votes. She’s not going to be setting policy, and she’s not going to be spending taxpayer money going on vacations.

She’ll dress appropriately, behave with decorum, and be a fine First Lady. Other than that, it doesn’t matter.

Didn’t see the thread about Cain and the Democrats but most of the Georgia websites that covered the 2004 GA Senate race (including the Atlanta Journal Constitution) report Cain was endorsed by Rainbow/PUSH’s Southeastern operations director Joe Beasley.

Here is a Newt statement about healthcare and the individual mandate:

so which Newt do I believe? the one you posted or this one from May 2011?

Seems this is Newt's whole problem in a nutshell. His political morality seems to change day to day.

Where do we find Newt’s video supporting global warming and flushing support for Deedee Scuzzifava?

In the Tea Party social media network that I participate in, nobody is advocating Newt as the front-runner.

I personally have donated several times to Herman Cain to help him in his campaign for the American Presidency.

And I will not donate any money to Newt. I am an AmeriCain.

I did half of your homework for you. Here’s Newt in October of this year talking about global warming:

Basically Newt plans to “fix the system” by tinkering around with it. Newt, like the rest of the career politicians, still does not get it. The system IS the problem. We don’t need to merely debug the system, we need to reboot it.

Well stated. Many people are going to Newt because he is great in the debates.

I have listened carefully to Newt and read many of his positions. There is a Statist streak in Newt that always comes through when he is being interviewed. Just the past few days Rush played a clip where you can tell Newt is hell-bent on wanting to believe in man-made global warming. Yes, he regrets being on the couch with Princess Pelosi.

I have no doubt that if he becomes President, he will NOT take the bold steps to drastically reduce government. He will be a vast improvement over Obama, but that is not enough.

For our government to survive, government must be downsized. Large numbers of government workers must be fired.

Newt's entire career has been spent in or near the political class. His instincts are to side with the political class.

We need some one truly outside of the D.C. experience. We need someone that will crush the political elites in D.C. I feel Cain will provide the leadership, the drive, and the passion needed to take the bold steps to turn our Republic towards Liberty.

Your article was dated May 15, 2011. My video was dated May 16, 2011. It appears to me the video was made to clarify something Newt had said, much like Cain has done when he finds something he said has been misconstrued.

I don’t think that means their political morality changes from day to day. I think that means they’re humans who misspeak once in a while and correct themselves to clear up confusion.

Pretty interesting...if I could have heard what was being said over the laughter...and could have seen over the chick with the french braid and the dude with the cute hair.

They were so cute...hugging each other and all.

Do you have a better video? That can be heard?

I’m sorry you couldn’t hear the audio. I didn’t have any problem hearing what Newt said, which is kind of amazing since I’m deaf in one ear. I have found a good set of headphones helps me when needed so you might want to check into those. And I apologize profusely that this is not a professional video, but instead made by a member of the Dallas Tea Party.

Anyway, Newt first talks about evidence of global warming in the time of the dinosaurs and how he’s pretty sure there were no cars or electrical plants around then.

Newt then states climate change has been happening throughout the history of the world and his personal hunch is that it will eventually be shown to be caused by solar radiation.

Towards the end he says he knew Al Gore in the 1980’s when Al was in a panic over nuclear winter and that he believed Al Gore invented global warming to melt nuclear winter.

Maybe knowing a little bit about what Newt was saying will make it easier for you to hear it.

You’re most welcome. She was my candidate; the thoroughly vetted, thoroughbred. Given that she’s not running, I’m emotionally detached, which makes this primary season a lot easier to view realistically.

None of our candidates are without their weaknesses, but all but the RINOS and Romney will be better than the Marxist and I’m going to try not to get into forum fights with those emotionally involved, unless it gets way out of hand.

Crapola by the lamestream is meant to divide and conquer. We should know by now that they’re in the tank for the arrogant little Won.

The candidates have tougher and thicker skins than the majority of their supporters.

what is it about his 21st Century Contract with America that isn't conservative enough for you?

What is not conservative enough is that he will cheat us. Once in power, he will justify the increases in debt and will play tricks like increasing the budget by 1 trillion dollars and cutting out that imaginary 1 trillion and will then claim that he saved us 1 trillion dollars. Another dirty trick he will play is to claim that the cuts will happen over the next 50,000 years.

I could vote for Newty if he is the last man standing and there is no other qualified candidate in a third party position and Newt would pledge to undo just about everything Obummer has done to the American public.

With all that said I really don't see myself voting for him as I just don't think he could or would want to undo much any of the damage the un-President Obummer has done to us. Instead I think he would join his old sidekick Nancy P. and stick it to us even more if he had the chance. Newt is no conservative in its truest sense. He says nice things but like all the rest, look at his record.
