Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich just opened his Manchester, N.H., campaign office moments ago. Gingrich told the volunteers and visitors he would take questions.
Can you give us a hint of who might be in your Cabinet, a man shouted from the back of the crowded room of about 200 people.
Well Ill give you an example Im looking for, Gingrich said. I believe we have to overhaul the State Department very dramatically. I think we need a secretary of state who is tough-minded and who would represent American interests. I think that Ambassador Bolton represents that kind of person.

From Wiki:
Under his Speakership, Congress passed and Clinton signed the 1996 reform of welfare, a capital gains tax cut and the first balanced budget since 1969.
Republicans lost five seats in the House in the 1998 midterm electionsthe worst performance in 64 years for a party that didn’t hold the presidency. Polls showed that Gingrich and the Republican Party’s attempt to remove President Clinton from office was widely unpopular among Americans.[71] Gingrich suffered much of the blame for the election loss. Facing another rebellion in the Republican caucus, he announced on November 6, 1998 that he would not only stand down as Speaker, but would leave the House as well. Commenting on his departure, Gingrich said, “I’m willing to lead but I’m not willing to preside over people who are cannibals. My only fear would be that if I tried to stay, it would just overshadow whoever my successor is.”[72]

If you don’t like a single poll because of a dinky sample size, look at the realclearpolitics average of polls of the Republican electorate:
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/us/republican_presidential_nomination-1452.html
Newt is still in 3rd place, but it’s a solid 3rd, while Cain is drifting downward & Romney is at stasis. This signifies something important, unless you think McClatchy/Marist, CBS News, USA Today/Gallup, NBC News/Wall Street Journal, ABC News/Washington Post & Rasmussen Reports are all skewing or fabricating their polling data as part of a grand anti-Cain conspiracy.

Not to worry, as Gingrich will be VP for Cain. I have been saying for a long time that we need Bolton at State.

I love this quote:”If the Soviet empire still existed, I’d be terrified. The fact is, we can afford a fairly ignorant presidency now.”

It isnt paranoia when you know how the MSM works. But it is when there are more reasonable explanations. Which in this case, there are. Newt has done very well in the debates, this leads to his increasing poll numbers, so the MSM reports more on Newt. He is something of a comeback kid at this point. What is the media suppose to report? I'd think if they ignored him, it would be worse and sound more conspiratorial.

Just find something that has actually happened, not some silly kooky conspiracy. Geeeez.
In MY personal view, Bolton was already thrown under the bus once, in Dec. 2006.
Also, in my view, Porter Goss did not receive the support he should have in clearing deadwood in the CIA.
It seems every time a person with a long strong conservative history gets in somewhere, the lefty bureaucrat knee-biters get to work and the second something happens, the strong reformer is under the bus instead of the knee-biters who are usually protected by Civil Service regulations. I'm sick of it.
Bolton would instantly be a target, as he was in 2005 when he was a recess appointment because some Senate Dems hated him. Bolton needs to be in elected office where only the people can dislodge him in four years.

"while Cain is drifting downward & Romney is at stasis."
Cain went from 26 to 22, Romney went from 25.5 to 22.5
So Cain drops 4 points when hit with wall to wall negative coverage and 5 woman sex scandal which turned to 4 and now is 3....
Romney, during the exact same period facing no scandal charges, using the poll YOU linked drops 3 points It does signify something important, unfortunately it appears you are not seeing it.

So is Newt rising in the polls a mirage? Or have Sarah Palin and all the FReepers who have watched Newt win debate after debate been hallucinating?
Does the MSM like a horse race? Sure. It helps their ratings. Do they like Newt? No, which is my point. Those who say that Newt is "their boy" make idiots of themselves. The MSM will go after ANY GOP candidate that takes on Obama, period.
There's a reason why Newt, politically left for dead, has risen while others haven't. And if you think it's all MSM sleight-of-hand you are not dealing with reality.
