Same here. Gotta watch every dollar and for us Amazon has been the cheapest way to shop. If sales tax is the future,well...buh bye Amazon.

I won’t give up on Amazon because greedy states are making it impossible for them to do business. It’s not their fault; they’ve fought it as long as they reasonably can. Even with tax, their prices are still far better than brick and mortar, and the value of time saved by shopping online is incalculable. I can order a pair of shoes or a book in less time than it would take me to look for my car keys. As long as Jeff Bezos runs Amazon, I’ll stick with it.

I think that’s the plan in the long run.

Make it so people’s only option is to buy on line, which helps foriegn
sellers.

Make it so all people have to have a checking account
from the Government bank to do any business at all. Cash is out.

I agree. I do a lot of Amazon shopping. As long as I can get free shipping it won’t be too bad.

I think it will hurt them though.

That’s right. I am not paying sales tax and shipping. internet marketers are shooting themselves in the foot.

I live in NY. Amazon has been adding sales tax to all purchases no matter what State they’re originating from. They’ve been doing this for the past 3 (?) years. Anything entering NYS is taxed. The end destination is taxed not the place of origin.

Now that they’re owned by Amazon, W00t charges sales tax even though they’re in Texas. No fun paying sales tax on a BOC.

We shop Amazon a lot because locally the stores just don't carry what we want. I got tired of the stored dictating the products I must buy because they carry a small selection. With online shopping I don't have to settle for less than what I want anymore.

I like the free shipping and if I keep doing the free shipping then I would be okay with the tax. I'd rather pay the tax and get the product I want, than purchase locally and not get what I want but still have to pay that tax anyway.
