Yes and no to the trial by media. I agree that the wheels of justice must turn. But this particular case is not in a stage of “oh, somebody made an unsubstantiated accusation”. For close to 2 years, this has been investigated by a grand jury. There has been a lot of testimony UNDER OATH, which resulted in the two perjury charges for the AD and the financial guy. There has not been a trial in front of Sandusky’s peers (ick, just ick) but there has been a pretty substantial investigation and presentation of evidence in a judicial setting.
I don’t feel like it is a knee-jerk reaction on my part to have the guy pretty much “guilty” in my mind.

Yep, nothing to see here, just random lies by different people, in grand jury testimony.

“As far as I can see this is another trial and conviction by media.”
You’re mistaken. This is nothing like the lame accusations against Herman Cain.
The major players in this scandal have admitted what happened. Jo Pa said he should have done more. Multiple victims have come forward with a staggering number of incidents, at least one of which was witnessed by a PSU football staffer. The charges have already gone to the Grand Jury.
It’s not a question of ‘if’ it happened. They have done the opposite of Nifong at Duke with this case. There won’t be any charges of malicious prosecution of this whole scandal.
Well, we know that Sandusky is on record as having to admitted to inappropriate contact with Victim 1 to his mother with 2 police in the next room listening. God only knows (literally) why Gricar didn't prosecute.
Having said that, considering that the DA has said that neither Paterno nor McQueary are currently in danger of indictment, there is desire to go after those two for their egregious moral failings.
