A retired judge or DA or FBI agent or police chief with a good rep & no ties to PSU would make sense.

I can't think of worse choices.

This kind of reminds me of Jamie Gorelick chairing the 911 Commission. Conflicts of interest abound.

Now Sandusky has to go to a store. Before, young boys were his Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Well said and needs to be repeated, in bold:

Officials at Penn State created an environment that ENCOURAGED perversion, and that no sex was wrong.

It was the stated goal of President Spanier to become the most Gay-Friendly Campus in America, and Penn St. had the first All-GAY fraternity in America. (I’ll bet they have an interesting Hell Week).

With Adminstration-sponsored events like “QueerFest”, or the ‘Become a Lesbian for a day’ “C##tFest”, they CREATED an atmosphere where the perversions of a sicko like Sandusky found not only a home, but acceptance, and a staff willing to cover it up, for the sake of the MONEY the Football Program dragged in.

Penn State FIRED its 27 yr National Championship winning Women’s basketball coach, Rene Portland,in 2006, for telling a parent she would not tolerate homosexuality on her team, claiming she created a “Hostile, discriminative environment”.

In this kind of an atmosphere, can you hardly be surprised that sexual abuse of children would go on, and be covered up, with no regrets?

I forgot about Jamie. She was on there just to do a whitewash. You're right. Frazier looks like the same thing.

Frazier, who joined Merck in 1992, became general counsel of the company in 2006.[1] As the company's general counsel, he was credited with overseeing the company's defense against Vioxx-related litigation[2]

He doesn't sound like the kind of guy who will follow the evidence to where it leads.

Thanks for pointing that out Okie. There is much obfuscation going on by the nervous enablers on this one!

Anyone that is recruited to investigate this should have no ties to Penn State, Second Mile or any donor of either institution. Otherwise, it could be considered suspect.

“The high-ups at Penn State are corrupt to the core.

The real story is them, not Paterno. They just fired him to get the heat off themselves”

Now, I will challenge you, what are your facts and evidence or are you just pimping for Paterno, eh?

“Yes, I would like to think I would also have myself.
Even Paterno admitted that he did not do enough.”

Very interesting that you would use my response to you on Paterno’s culpability as a comeback when someone else challenged your integrity in this matter, eh? Doofus!

And I’d say you are a hypocrite!

Well - it seems they dont want anyone to know who is or was on the board.

The pages have been scrubbed from their website.

The links for Board and Staff are now 404s (dead links)

But Thanks to the Wayback Machine - here are some links! (look in the upper right for the date each page was captured - they have multiples captures of some pages from various dates)

Thanks for the links. Hopefully the powers that be at Second Mile won’t request removal from The Wayback Machine.

I read #64 already and I think that Paterno was OK with all the perversity going on, else he would have quit long ago and found a head coaching job elsewhere. He didn’t quit, he didn’t speak out for the kids and he enabled the cover up. Now he’s been fired instead of being allowed to hang on for the rest of the year. That was necessary, but only as a first step; the civil cases against him and his estate will follow for years to come!

Penn State’s board of trustees last Friday appointed Kenneth Frazier, the chief executive of Merck & Co. as well as Penn State alumni, to lead a special committee to investigate the Sandusky sordid matter. As a Penn State alum myself, it turns my stomach knowing that Mr. Frazier volunteered himself and has serious conflicts of interest in the scandal. Anyone is able to review the Annual reports of Sandusky’s “Second Mile” organization and see that Merck & Co was one of Second Mile’s largest repeat donors for the past several years 2006 (> $50,000), 2007 ($5,000-$9,999), 2008 ($5,000-$9,999), and 2009 ($2,000-4,999). The annual reports can easily be downloaded from the Second Mile website.

Did he volunteer or was he appointed?
