I don’t think that is Ocaam’s razor. He will now endure legal costs, investigations into his own background and various attacks - all linked to a woman with which he has no current relationship.

The edge to that is if he is found to be a clean-cut Pediatrician, with testimonials to his character by parents and members of the community, it will strengthen the notion that “he has no reason to lie”
He doesn’t have to lie. He just has to repeat the lie told to him. If she did indeed tell him what she said, he has no reason to lie about it.
It just happens that the story he was told is a lie. That is why he is no witness to it. He was not there.
