Washington (CNN) - The public is divided over the idea of requiring all Americans to have health insurance, according to a new national survey. But a CNN/ORC International Poll also indicates that support for the proposal, a cornerstone of the 2010 health care reform law, has risen since June.

Makes perfect sense in a twisted sort of way.
a copy of this poll to be sent to Anthony Kennedy’s inbox once every 6 minutes for the next four months...
So 52% of Americans favor being ordered by the government to purchase whatever the government deems is appropriate, up from 44%. The survey indicates that 47% still choose freedom and self-determination, down from 54% in early summer.
IOW, Americans seek to submit meekly to oppressive, nanny-state government. This sure as hell isn't the country in which I was raised.
I agree CNN must have gotten a huge wad of cash from Axie lately. Also everyone PLEASE BEWARE that Obama is spending millions to promote false polls and lies and divide and conquer DON’T FALL FOR IT!
Sufficiently indoctrinated sheep who, as ordered, believe all that is good must flow from the government.
Haven't seen the actual questions but the headline states that more are in favor of mandatory healthcare, or requiring that everyone have it. No mention of who pays for it. I suspect the poll is equally silent on that little fact and that what has risen is the expectation of another government hand-out. No news there...
I daresay you're right. BTW, WaPo has a widget on their site that shows what obamacare will do to its victims. A single person with no dependents is subject to fines if s/he doesn't purchase government approved health insurance if s/he has an income as little as $9,500 yearly GROSS. I wonder if the folks thinking they're about to get blue cross/blue shield insurance paid for by "rich folks" realize this?
That said, I agree with those who say the poll is bogus. Too many states have passed anti mandate referendums for me to believe anyone outside regular CNN viewers are in favor of the mandate. My own state, Missouri, led the way by passing its anti mandate proposition by a 70%+ vote and massive turnout. And does anyone really believe that a majority of American citizens , in a time of very high unemployment and economic turmoil, believe the government should force people to spend hundreds of dollars they may not even have on ANYTHING ????
This poll was timed to coincide with the SCOTUS review of Obamacare...a message is being sent with a subtle underlying hint at unrest to follow an unfavorable to Obama Court decision.
No one can trust an MSM poll even if it favors the conserv Pub side. Wait and see if numbers hold up in two months.
