Brutal: Cain blanks on Libya, supports collective bargaining for public employee unions

You won’t believe me until you click play but this is much worse than Perry’s brain lock at the debate last week. Perry lost his train of thought; Cain doesn’t have a train at all here, to the point where he needs confirmation from the interviewer of what Obama’s position on Libya actually was. Eventually he produces some boilerplate about not supporting the opposition until you’re sure who’s in it and of course not making a decision as president until he has all the information, which is a standard Cain fallback talking point whenever he gets in trouble on a question, but the first two minutes or so are pure agony. The board actually took pity on him, I think, by not following up. Imagine if they’d asked his opinion on Obama’s decision to ignore the War Powers Act. Remember, this is a guy who apparently wants to be considered for secretary of defense.

And that still only barely qualifies as the worst answer he gave today. Here’s what he told them when asked, predictably enough, about Scott Walker’s righteous crusade against public employee unions:

You get off destroying our candidates or something?

If all it takes to "destroy" your candidate is to show an interview of him trying to answer a question, maybe you should think about a different candidate. You Cain supporters sure are a thin skinned bunch.

Definitely some Perry derriers are responsible for so many anti Cain threads. And maybe some Romneybots, too. And no doubt we have been infiltrated by some slimy, and devious Commie liars, too. They should quit searching the dumpsters for such garbage. Our freedom and Constitution are hanging in the balance, so if any so called conservatives (Gingrich, Paul and/or Santorum) try to bring down the man who should be president, they will have blood on their hands!

Go, Cain, you are the greatest!

I didn’t watch the debate, so I don’t know what happened. The earlier reports said that McCain questioned the Libyan war, because we didn’t know who we were helping to take over the country. I like that answer.

As for Allahpundit, he went around the bend several years ago, and I wouldn’t trust him to tell us the time of day.

Uh no, you're wrong. I have no pick in this race yet but I do stand up against the posters who continually post negative things about a candidate to boost up there own.

If you have a problem with that tough bovine excrement.

I thought Cain’s answers were perfectly fine. He seemed tired and stressed out, and obviously had a brainfreeze initially on the Libya question—but he recollected himself perfectly fine and gave a solid reply. That’s what counts.

Presidents are only human, not superheros. Hence, they’re subject to the same human limitations as the rest of us.

I have no problem with you then. It just seems like the Cain supporters are both the worst offenders, and the most easily offended in that regard.

He went into the lions den and did just fine. I’m glad I’m not the only one who sees this...

Are you kidding? He was terrible. I could have answered that question better - and I'm just a casual observer of news events. Cain demonstrated that he isn't fit to be President. Good God, I'd be terrified for our country if he became President. The guy is a numbskull.

Saw this, and my heart went out to him. He's go to be emotionally drained from all of this sexual harassment crap. I didn't see Saturday night's debate, but some Freepers said that he appeared very tired and somber.

Herman is not a young man - and he's battled Stage IV colon cancer. The stress of this campaign could very well be draining the life out of him. I hate to see a good man destroyed.

OMG... THAT is going to leave a mark. There is no way to spin that garbage.

Imagine if he had gotten nominated and was in the very last debate with Obama and crashed like this....

MSM will give this LARGE coverage, and sadly, this could very well take him out.

I couldn’t agree with you more! I just can’t see him surviving this. He must know it’s over.

"""""Imagine if he had gotten nominated and was in the very last debate with Obama and crashed like this""""""

That is what I have been imagining ever since the first debate, and that is one nightmare in the making. Other than 9-9-9, the man is Clueless.
