This is a sad, sad tale. It shows that so many people still don’t get it. The guy graduated from Penn State. Obviously, he’s a fan. But he has the right perspective. Something a lot of these “fans” don’t understand. Unfortunately, this is not just a reflection on Penn State, but society at large. Does anyone think that if given the same circumstances at other big time college football programs, the same reaction from the fans would not happen? I believe they would.
I was at the game and did not see what is being reported. People attending were there for the student-athletes and behaved as such during the game.
Did have an opportunity to speak to someone from the media and they told me the students would not speak to them as they were not trusting the media to report honestly. The student body is very upset about the charges, care about the victims and believe the portrayal of their university has been very one-sided slam. There are many great student-run organizations doing wonderful things, yet receive little exposure. The ‘rioting’ that took place Wednesday night was peaceful until few hooligans turned the van, then others took that as an opportunity to turn violent. Fewer than 50 students took part in the ‘rioting’ out of 40,000 on campus, yet you hear of the PSU students rioting.
Many people are posting informatin based on the media reports. Since when did people on this forum trust the media to correctly report a story?
