Michele Bachmann, making the case on Fox News that she's the safest candidate in a rather jaw-dropping statement.
BACHMANN: I haven't had a gaffe or something that I've done that has caused me to fall in the polls.
People see in me someone who's genuinely a social conservative, a fiscal conservative, a national security conservative and a Tea Partier. I'm the whole package.
And when it comes to the best Republican who take on Barack Obama and not have any clunker in my record to be able to take him on, it's me. And I've been involved as a private citizen for 50 years, and for the last five years, I've been in the lion's den in Washington, D.C. And so I have a record that I'm very proud of, and I'm happy to take him on in the debates to hold him accountable for what he's done to the economy and the country and our national security while he's been in office.
VAN SUSTEREN: So you're talking about clunker -- you mean the allegations -- underline allegations, no proof of Mr. Herman Cain that there were two women who said that they were sexually harassed, and you had the Governor Perry's unfortunate 53-second gaffe at the -- one of the debates -- is that the clunker that brings people down?

“I haven’t had a gaffe”.....but I have raised 23 foster kids!
Bachmann: “I yet to make a giraffe”
The problem is that she's as intense as Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction. Mucho scary.
Yes folks this is our cast of candidates!
Given how soundly Cain and Perry have been beating her in the polls, maybe she’d better start gaffing!
so vaccination really causes autism?
What about, "What happens when you turn 999 upside down?"
"giraffe?....????..oh gaffe, sheeesh"
I know it’s not nice to make fun of the dead... But better than picking at our live ones...
No? Nothing about mental retardation in children?
That was awful!
That was the night I met her and spoke with and got my picture taken with her, and some woman gave her a very sad story, but Michele Bachmann should have checked its reliability before running with it.
They’ve all made mistakes. They’re all human.
We don’t have a perfect candidate because “mine” isn’t running.
She had a Rollins.
This lady should drop out. I guess it will take a drubbing in the Iowa caucus to get her out of the race. She is an embarrasing distraction. She is useful in Congress and I’m so afraid she has made such a fool of herself that she will lose her seat in Congress. The only thing she seems to have learned was to have gained control of her hysterical speaking mannerism. At least that is an improvement!
Sweetheart, ya can't drop if you are already on the bottom...
Not to mention, she NEVER criticizes Romney, only conservatives.
That’s a GAFFE AND A HALF!
Some will say the “6-6-6” was but it sure didn’t bother me. I thought it was funny.
Geez, Michele, I want to like you and then you say things like this. :eyeroll:
I haven’t watched one Republican debate. At first I was waiting for Palin to jump in. Now I know they’re going to favor Romney in all the debates, so I don’t watch them.
Not until now.
Well there was the bit about Elvis’ birthday and John Wayne’s birthplace...
I thought I was the only one who hadn't.
Comparing Herman Cain's 999 plan to 666, or the devil certainly didn't help her.
She was riding high in the polls after winning the Ames Straw Poll, and now she’s fighting Santorum and Huntsman to stay off the bottom. I wonder what it would take for her to admit she’s “dropped?”
I really like Michele Bachmann and there is no doubt about her conservative credentials but I sure wish she would have slapped down the idea that the accusations against Cain and Perry’s little brain freeze were anything but trivial matters.
Even her “Patty Duke” hair makes people question what she’s really all about. Lately, she has her hair up more often, but “Patty Duke hair” returns, every now and then. Also, she’s behaving just like Rick Santorum with her, “I’m the only one here out of all of the Presidential candidates who...”, on many issues, which is very annoying.
I didn't think it was funny. A conservative saying anything that helps Mitt Romney isn't funny at all.
I haven’t had a gaffe or something that I’ve done that has caused me to fall in the polls.
So there is something substantive behind her fall in the polls? Is that what she is saying?
Oh, yeah, that's important! /s
Man she sounds like my ex-wife!!
I like Bachmann and I think that she is a conservative, but she’s not going to gain momentum if she doesn’t relax a little and develop a sense of humour about herself. It may already be too late, but even if it is, she still has a shot at the VP slot. She’s a fighter, which I admire.
The good ol’ boys don’t like her.. because she not a “boy”..
But they agree with her mostly..
Thats why Newt, Perry and Cain are mimicing her “destroy” the scope of the federal government meme like a Vegas Ventriloquist...
She been saying it from the git go..
The good old boys may “mean it” maybe not.. trust them at your own risk..
Remember Bush devolved into a slobbering drooling mess at the end.. a tool of democrats..
I’d hit it, but not when she has her hair up.
She’s pretty scary that way. It may be the ears.
Totally disagree. Even if she has no chance of winning she is an eloquent spokeswoman for conservative ideas.
Is that right?

That picture is very disrespectful. If there is one type of post that should be refrained from, it’s insulting images of graphic innuendo targeted at conservatives.
If I wanted to see posts like that I’d be looking at far-left websites.
H-A-P-P-Y B-I-R-T-H-D-A-Y, E-L-V-I-S !
H-A-P-P-Y B-I-R-T-H-D-A-Y, E-L-V-I-S !
Since this debate there have been numerous stories about vaccination problems both here and abroad. I guess we shouldn’t take the media seriously either. I know some people who have personally had problems with this as well.
I don’t think that disqualifies her but to the LSM certainly she is TOO conservative, thus she is a non-started.
"And I never slice."
“Questions about vaccines” is vastly different than her deer-eyed statement of fact ‘because some lady told her some crazy story.
And as far as I know, those “questions” (which I don’t have) never involved kids over 1, did they?
Note: I should have said her conservative bonafides are unquestioned. I was arguing against her purported intellect.
I agree 100%.
Michele is the candidate most likely to have a term in office where all her actions are true to conservative causes.
It’s painfully obvious that a majority of people who like to think of themselves as conservative idiotically jumped on the Republican establishment bandwagon and bashed Michele, taking the best candidate for forcing some real change on the establishment government out of contention.
Will Cain win ? Even ol’ big-healthcare Newt ?
Conservatives talk about getting rid of cronyism, then when a real socially and fiscally conservative candidate comes along, they knock them out before the primaries start.
I guess not all FREEPERS Tivo Fox news nightly and have watched her and all her recent appearances, but every time I’ve seen her she looks and sounds GREAT.
As well spoken as Cain or Newt with none of the baggage.
I’d have to say her problem is she has been PALINED. The sad part is that most conservatives are going right along with this. She’s crazy, she can’t win, ect.
See the results from 2008 for what happens when we let the media choose our candidate.
In the DEBATES they make goo-goo eyes at each other.
I’m guessing Bachmann has no sexual harassment skeletons in her closet, if that’s what we’re talking about. No support for Obamacare either.
