NEW YORK (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain says "all of these women are lying" about unwanted sexual advances.

In appearance on David Letterman's "Late Show" airing Friday night, the former pizza executive is again denying any impropriety during his time running the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s.

I was wrong. I found the tape that shows when Cain first walked onto the stage. At minute 13:28 of this video:

Dave DID go out and greet him and shake his hand when Cain first came onto the stage, then they both walked over to the desk. Cain was waving to the audience as he walked to his seat. That’s when I came in the room and saw it last night... and there was no handshake at the desk. So I thought Dave had not shaken Cain’s hand. I was wrong — the handshake took place before they got to the desk.

I agree - Letterman cut Cain off every chance he got. He was quite condescending. Cain held his own. There were a few funny moments, on both sides. The audience seemed to be open to Cain, and didn’t seem to take sides on anything.

I hate Letterman. But on that one point about change not gonna happen, I think he’s right. The President isn’t a miracle worker, and change takes time. All the problems won’t be solved on Day One, or even Year One, no matter who gets elected. But if we choose wisely, the President can affect attitude and outlook. A positive outlook will enable businesses to start hiring again, to make capital expenditures/investments, to start changing the direction of the economy.

At one point L was wagging his finger at him.

Need the pubs in the House to grow a pair and to pick up the senate.

Two are anonymous. Two work for Soetoro

Which makes a grand total of two. How do we know that the two "anonymous" ones aren't the same two who work for President Clouseau?

I saw the segment with Cain. He did VERY well considering that DL was so condescending. I don’t think it was a mistake at all.

I saw it too. From my perspective I think Herman is a wonderful candidate with values that I really appreciate. My point is that the punk Letterman is the wrong place to discuss the values we hold dear.

That dumb bastard Letterman has no clue. And Herman may have done OK, however it gets him nothing as regards the big picture with normal folks.

We must rise above the lightweight level and and dismiss the dumb bastards.

Yes ,but it is those people who are driven by the media. It was good that Cain got out there. Oh, and Cain is winning...we will see soon what happens when he does.

Funny, earlier I was thinking how the nomination process and general election helps prepare a president in many ways. As you said, thick skin development. And always watching what one says while living under a microscope.

It would help him appear more informed (but I don’t have any major issues - at this point) if he started to lay out in concise, easy to understand points, what 999 is. Of course, people like Letterman would need to give him time to actually talk.

But, maybe that is his plan. Right now “999” is what people associate him with, along with a couple of other things. Maybe the “999” repetition will help drown out the other things and he can soon began to give soundbites on what it really means for people.

I used to watch Lettermen too, eons ago.

To me in this case he appeared as a tool and a jerk, but Cain scored way more points than Lettermen.

Cain got some talking points out, improved his image and got more name recognition.

He also slapped down the number of women to 2, and media and rats heard him. I also think that is a good thing, assuming he is being truthful.
