A Georgia factory worker claims in a federal lawsuit that he was fired after he refused to wear a 666 sticker he feared would doom him to eternal damnation.
Billy E. Hyatt claims he was fired from Pliant Corp., a plastics factory in northern Georgia near Dalton, after he refused to wear a sticker proclaiming that his factory had been accident-free for 666 days. That number is considered the "mark of the beast" in the Bible's Book of Revelation describing the apocalypse.
Hyatt, who said he's a devout Christian, had worked for the north Georgia plastics company since June 2007 and like other employees wore stickers each day that proclaimed how long the factory had gone without an accident.
But he grew nervous in early 2009 as the number of accident-free days crept into the 600s. As the company's safety calendar approached day 666, Hyatt said he approached a manager and explained that wearing it would force him "to accept the mark of the beast and to be condemned to hell." He said the manager assured him he wouldn't have to wear the number.

Actually, the beast is NRN QSR, or Caesar Nero. The Hebrew alphabet assigns a numeric value to each letter, unlike Latin which does so for only a few. (And why would a Jew writing in Greek use Latin?) Only consonants were written.
The funny thing is that the value of the 2nd “N” is debated, since it is not the same character of the 1st “N” in Hebrews. Ancient Greek texts reflect this ambiguous value: Many actually assert that the number of the beast was 616!

I also think this man should not have had to wear that 666 sticker and certainly should not be fired over it! Whoa! Get fired for not wearing a sticker?
How intolerant of this boss and this company!
I hope he wins the right to his job back and pay for missing any work!
And an apology from the company and his boss should also be a requirement!
One good thing about this story is that people who don’t know the Bible regarding the warning not to take the mark of the beast will read about this and maybe ask, “What is wrong with wearing that number?” Perhaps the rest of us will be well equipped to give a Biblical answer. If not see scripture references below.
It sure looks like the times of our day are heading fast to this mark of the beast. How easy to implement this system of the mark of the beast in our world today. (It will one day be required of people to put the mark of the beast on their hand or forehead or they will not be able to buy or sell.) People who don’t know the Bible might actually like this idea since, then no one could steal his or her info (All his/her info would be in his/her hand or forehead-including the mark of the beast).

This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of God’s people.
The Beast out of the Earth
11 Then I saw a second beast, coming out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb, but it spoke like a dragon. 12 It exercised all the authority of the first beast on its behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed. 13 And it performed great signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to the earth in full view of the people. 14 Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. 15 The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.
16 It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, 17 so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.

Revelation 16:2
The first angel went and poured out his bowl on the land, and ugly, festering sores broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast and worshiped its image.

But the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed the signs on its behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.
Revelation 20:4
I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Silly post, but it brings up an interesting point. What language was Revelations written in? I believe it was Attic Greek, but not sure.
More importantly, what did they use for numbers, calculating, etc.?
666 looks ominous in today’s numbers, but it loses a lot of punch if written as DCLXVI.

I have a neighbor who received tags for a new car. The last numbers were 666. She went to MVA and wanted to exchange them since she felt it was the mark of the beast. Well, MVA wouldn’t do it but did say (hint, hint) that new tags would be given if tags were stolen or lost. So, she waited a few days and went back to MVA... seems that the tags just fell off the car or something. I don’t blame her at all and she felt better with tags without those numbers.
He speaks of 3 separate (not necessarily mutually exclusive but interconnected) interpretations of the beast: Satan himself, a political and/or religious organization, and a singular person (the AC, I presume).
The political/religious organization sounds a lot like Islam. There is much to consider (the "was, is not now, will be" language seems to refer to Baal worship...which is not unlike Islam in its blasphemy, practice, and worship of an actual demon).

Accident free stickers? Nothing like punishing everyone with that mandatory BS that means nothing to most others.
