JEFFERSONVILLE — A 20-year-old Maryland man has been identified as the suspect shot by a convenience store clerk during an attempted armed robbery Thursday morning, Jeffersonville Police Department Detective Todd Hollis said Friday.

Terry L. Wilson is in critical condition at University Hospital in Louisville. Hollis said police identified Wilson on Friday morning using fingerprint records.

Shortly before 4 a.m. Thursday, two men with their faces covered by bandanas and hats attempted to rob the Q-Mart at Allison Lane and Middle Road. The clerk exchanged gunfire with the suspects. A firearm was recovered from Wilson. Hollis said they believe the clerk acted in self-defense and no charges will be filed.

The store’s owner, who identified himself to a reporter as Sammy Sam, said the same two men have robbed his store three times since Labor Day on Sept. 5. The BP station across the street was also robbed during that time period. The men ride up to the store on bicycles with their faces covered and demand money.

Police are still searching for the second suspect, whose identity is unknown.

Sam is offering a $500 reward to anyone who with information leading to the suspect’s capture. Anyone with information is asked to call JPD at 812-283-6633 or the anonymous tip line at 812-218-TIPS

Why are they even treating him? And who is paying for it?

In terms of assault criminals who get injured, this is a case where I agree with ‘death panels’.

Does this guy deserve treatment?
What is the likelihood that after we spend hundreds of thousands to save him, he winds up mugging, raping, or killing another innocent citizen? Another injured citizen who paid for the criminal’s recovery.

America is a weird place. I say, pull the plug. He put himself in that situation. He should bear the consequences. JMHO

(interesting that no description at all was given)

I'm sure they are still on file from the six years he served with the Marines.

Yes, kill the birds with one stone. Would that not make the liberal-left, state-run, lame-stream, progressive-communist media happy!!!
