Barney Frank isn’t seeking re-election because he is taking the lead role in a revival in La Cage Aux Folles. Sorry Nancy, he got the role and you didn’t.

“A top adviser told the Globe that the new district in which Frank would have had to run next year was a major factor in his decision. While it retained his Newton stronghold, it was revised to encompass more conservative towns like Walpole while losing New Bedford, a blue-collar city where the Democrat had invested a lot of time and become a leading figure in the region’s fisheries debate.

Frank’s campaign manager last year said his withering 2010 re-election effort spurred the congressman to think seriously about retiremen”

...Nancy Pelosi will have a hard time staying in the leadership if Democrats do not retake the House next year.

The reason Barney's Frank is bailing is because there is no way the Rats will retake the house. I expect a few more of these retirements in the coming months from Rats getting to the same conclusion. Why hang around when you have no power.

He's possibly feeling some heat over pending investigations into Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. So, he thinks if he bails now he will be safe from repercussions.

HE'S DEAD RIGHT! He'll ride off into taxpayer paid retirement and never look back or think about the lives he's helped ruin.

The witch is melting. The Barry Soetoro regime is a disaster, the health care scam is sinking, her corruption is being exposed (her net worth rose 62% last year despite a recession, not that anything will be done about it) and her best friend Queen Frank is stepping down. Hopefully her extreme drug addition will be exposed next ......see my tagline————>

The Dems will have a smaller caucus in 2012. The DOMINANT wing will be the CBC..I look for Cylburn to run against Hoyer..which willc use BIG problems for the Dems..

However..the REAL battle will be for Senate minority elader....Schumer or Durbin..

Bwaney usta say that as long as his district contained Newton and Brookline, they could put Utah in his distwict. Just not Walpole, I suppose.

All Bwaney wants is a distwict with lots and lots of voters sucking off the embolistic government teat. Which is pretty much Bwookwine, Newton, New Bedfowd and Fall Wiver.

I sure hope not. Nancy is the face of the Democratic party—both of ‘em.

The article seems to imply this will be one more competitive race the Dems will have to defend they hadn’t counted upon. Are you kidding me??? Even with Frank’s district being re-drawn this is Massachusetts!! The new Dem will sail to victory. It might only be 55% but mark up the new guy with a D beside his name.

How crazy will his replacement be?

Advice for our side from you-know-who: Push a negative hard and deep enough, and it will break through into its counterside.

Has special meaning when it comes to Barney (the cocktail) Frank.

Democrats won’t retake the House. Democrats will still be stupid enough to keep Pelosi as their leader. Never underestimate the foolishness of evil.

I hope there is a good, strong Conservative to take his place. I also hope that he takes his shoes home with him, in any case! The lisping wimp knows he wouldn’t stand to win a used hamburger if he tried to run after what he and Dodd did to America!
