TEHRAN,Iran (AP) — Dozens of hard-line Iranian students have stormed the British Embassy in Tehran, bringing down the British flag and throwing documents from windows.

The students clashed with anti-riot police and chanted "the Embassy of Britain should be taken over" and "death to England."

Tuesday's incident comes two days after Iranian parliament approved a bill that reduces diplomatic relations with Britain following London's support of recently upgraded U.S. sanctions on Tehran.

They should put these “students” in quote marks.

Repeating the koran 24/7 while rocking back and forth in madrassas does not a student make.

We should have nuked Iran back in Reagan’s day (once our people were released).

We’ll have to do it eventually. Why not now?

Time to get out of Teheran. No more hostages.

The balloon is going up on this one soon. Six months tops. The Israeli's have a different kind of war planned. A brainpower war with a little firepower thrown in.

Imagine Iran with no electricity, no fuel, and no communications. Welcome to the 14th century, mullahs.

Not students, clearly a state orchestrated event with basiji forces leading.
Any UK staff in there I wonder?
Its a serious incident, not sure how serious yet.

“Any UK staff in there I wonder?”

It was after hours - I don’t know how many would be in there when it’s closed.

Yeah, there was also an unconfirmed report of six hostages taken but that has since been removed.

The way I see it though is that all this will end up with the Foreign Office & PM condemning this and writing a strongly worded letter to Tehran and maybe the UN etc.

But if any UK nationals get hurt or worse then that changes things.

Turkish press, citing Reuters is still reporting the hostage story. Guess we will find out soon enough.

Another report from a different source that 8 staff have been taken hostage. Not clear though if they are Iranian of UK nationals though, that will make a big difference.
Also the fact that (if the report is true) it is “protestors” taking them hostage and not official Iranian forces then its probably not going to go on for very long, one way or the other.
